  1. Personally, it took me about 10 tries to kill it. Of course, when i finally did, I slapped myself in the head. The most important thing to do is have a high enough nature lore that they only need to have 75% health to convert. Then, convert them all, and have your remaining characters hide in the far corner. The sevents will take damage turn by turn form the sentinal, and when they hit low health, they will be revived by it, but becuase they don't get fully healed, they reconvert to your side. It might take quite a while, but it works. You just gotta have high enough nature lore. Mine was 10, but I am relatively sure that you could probably go as low as 6.
  2. Is this type of game even possible? I am going to try to play without landing a single combat blow. Any advice would be extremely welcome.
  3. Ohh I know... looks like it'll be coming out in the next couple days! Pity I have windows.....
  4. Until it's released, no one knows for sure. I am jsut going by the info on the main website, Taken from the main website: The villain fled somewhere into Avernum, an underworld nation of eccentrics, misfits, and barely civilized monsters, most of whom hate the Empire. And that is where you are going. You must find Dorikas, while dealing with spies, betrayal, and assassins at every turn. The enemy is waiting for you. You will only survive his attention with the help of these strange cave dwellers. If, of course, they don’t kill you first Now this woudl seem to indicate that the avernites haven't gotten to the surface world yet due to the attitude of hatred, which was a lot less severe in avernum 4. As for Rentar and Ihrno being gone, it could occur before Erika was sent down, or she oculd be missing for some random reason...
  5. Actually, it takes place sometime between avernum 1-4, most likely by the sounds of it, between abernum 2 and 3. I am most interested in the anama lands, as this seems to mean that the anama have returned. Ought to be interesting...
  6. thanks for the ehlp. This will definately help me.
  7. Is there any way to play avernum 1 in windowed mode? Due to the lack of a quest log, I was going to use notepad to record stuff, but I hate switching between windows. Thanks for your help, in advance.
