  1. I typically play on easy. I go back later and start on hard, but I never get around to finishing. I have almost finished a torment run though, I just have Dera Reaches to go.
  2. I do love kyshaaks. However, the tralls do a bit more damage, and they can take more damage as well. My last few games have been almost entirely battle shaping, but I may will probably use more fire in the future.
  3. I'll admit that I may be wrong. As I continue my current play through, I may switch over. I haven't played fully on torment before, so I'm open to changes from my norm.
  4. Given that your essence per stat point increases with your level, the Girdle of Genius ends up giving you a pretty good about of essence. I haven't even entered the Dera Reaches yet, but I already have 3 tralls. I also have enough essence for a few rounds of buffing and some good mental magic. I would much rather be able to buff my creations than give them a few more stat points.
  5. This is wonderful. Now I can actually see the forum when I go to the Geneforge Series!
  6. I think Geneforge is just too much to fit in a movie. There is so much information that would have to be cut out. Plus, a key component of the Geneforge games is the PC's ability to chose his or her own path. Making a movie would require a choice to be made at every single fork in the road.
  7. On my very first play through, I did it with cryoas. I may have had a bug or two, but it's doable on easy. Put up all of your buffs. If you don't have regeneration aura, cryoas don't stand a chance.
  8. You'll notice 4 levers in the room. Two of them are next to doors. One door opens if left unchecked, and guardian roamers come and attack you. The other is the exit. The other two levers control the bursts of energy. By clicking on each lever in order (although the order doesn't matter, just stick to it), you can keep the energy from blasting you, keep the roamers from attacking you, and eventually unlock the exit door. Just keep running in circles.
  9. Blurb: That is how I did it. It had been a while since the last time I played long enough to see tough, missile enemies. On a more off-topic note, Comcast finally fixed my cable!!
  10. Thanks, I'm kind of embarrassed I didn't notice that. Sadly, I'm not able to do that. I have 2 tralls and I'm working my way through the storm plains. The kyshakks in the abandoned farms are giving me real trouble. I can handle one at a time, but I can't daze well enough to keep multiple people from getting the lightning aura, which tanks my health.
  11. I've been playing through as a Shaper on Torment. I've noticed that when my hordes attack evil beasties, the beastie always returns fire to whoever attacked it most recently. I guess this makes sense if they have memory problems, but it gets really annoying. When I go against a boss, the boss always attacks the last creation in my lineup unless I have it skip its turn, even if other creations have dealt significantly more damage. I don't recall this happening in any other game. I just downloaded the 1.0.3 version (for mac) and I hope that it will be all better. Has anyone else had this problem, if it is a problem? Any suggestions?
  12. That 20 damage average can't be true for Torment. Although, I must say, 2 tralls can, despite being heavily slowed, take down an army of podlings, even on Torment.
  13. There are many variants, each of whom has a different AoE attack with a huge range. The ones that slow are really annoying. Two or three of those can prolong their death to the utmost extremes unless you place your creations far enough apart that only one can be hit at a time.
  14. You can, however, change the graphics to make creations look like other things. You could also change their stats to make them more powerful. But be warned, this will also affect your enemies. Say you change the fyora graphic into a golem graphic. All those fyoras in the beginning now look like golems.
  15. I read a few of those a while ago. I enjoyed them, if I recall correctly. They're all out of order, and I only have a few, so I never got into the whole series.
  16. My understanding of the scripts is that they only do things when written into the actual game scripts. I suppose you could script a dialogue to create a creature and add it to your party, but it would be easier to use an existing editor to increase your skill in creating that creature and then summon one yourself.
  17. That seems fairly reasonable. It also seems like something that wouldn't be to common, especially after the PC's mishap in G1.
  18. I can't remember if it works in G2, but you may be able to make a disposable creation to detonate them. If your creations can trigger mines (I don't know when this stopped working), just shape a base level creation and send it into the mines to make them go boom.
  19. Didn't Spiderweb almost go belly-up with BoA? Why on earth would Jeff risk it with a BoG? Geneforge is finished. After A6, Jeff is starting up a whole new thing. I doubt a remake is in the future.
  20. Crafting List If you go into the Strategy Central forum, you'll find all the great links for GF5 info. This particular list comes from Dahak's (I know I spelled that wrong) Item List.
  21. I don't believe that they are important characters. They aren't relevant to any quests that I know of. Just check by walking into the city (whose name is escaping me right now) and making sure they don't go hostile. They may think you killed them. If they don't go hostile, you should be fine. It's best to keep a save file from before that happened, just in case.
  22. I just read Things Fall Apart as a summer reading book for school. Not much plot, but a powerful book.
  23. There's no need to get offended. I didn't say that the problem is with your computer. I said the problem may be with your computer. If software doesn't work on your computer even though it's supposed to, and getting a new copy of the software doesn't fix the problem, there are only two options left. Either you or your computer. It's not personal, it's logic.
  24. Completely delete the game and redownload it. If that doesn't fix it, the problem is with your computer.
  25. I seem to remember something like this happening to me once when I decided to clear out multiple areas ahead before they got there. I would recommend starting over (if you care that much) and only clearing out the area that they are in.
