I don't think that quest has any major implications in the game.

I think Alorael means that, in print, you can see which of the homonyms is being used. Knowing this, you may be less likely to realize the pun. When listening, I think you're thinking more critically about the words, so you're more likely to pick up on a homonym.

Are the 3,000 coin training/blessings worth it?

On the other hand, I don't think I bought any bonuses. So if you are also playing on casual, they're not at all essential. -

I've been waiting to pick up new copies of the Geneforge series on CD. I've gotten all of them but 3, but I'd like to have a CD of more than just G2, and I have no qualms with supporting Jeff. And hey, better prices make everyone happier! Time to buy myself an early birthday present! I just hope they'll all work on my new macbook (once I get it... someday). -
What difficulty do you play on?
A less presumptuous name. replied to Lilith's topic in Avadon Series
I seem to have the same issue as Dikiyoba, only worse. I start off on casual just to enjoy the game, and I typically will wait a bit before starting a new run through, planning on seeing new endings and progressively bumping the difficulty. Alas, I have great trouble in replaying games, even though I know these games are great for replay. So I always end up with just a casual/easy experience. But since I care mostly for the plot, that bodes very well with me. -
This is bad, I'm trying to find a pun in Harehunter's last post. But I have to agree with Stug about homonym puns. While similar sounding words make for some acceptable puns, homonyms generally yield better ones.

Mozzila firefox, how to copy pictures for avatar?

It also helps if you think of the rapid release cycle as regular minor updates with different numbers. From 4 to 7 has been a series of minor changes, just bigger numbers. I may not understand the rational, but it's not unusual for a string of updates to come out after a big rehashing like FF4. For whatever reason, Mozilla just decided to use bigger numbers. -

I don't understand Firefox's release scheme either, but it doesn't matter since I'm still using a PPC PowerBook. Lack of intel leaves me with the latest stable version of Firefox 3, which is still receiving support. Firefox 3 and 7 get support, but nothing in between. Strange... -
1st Spiderweb Game I've stopped playing due to boredom

Well, now that we've had games, there would indeed be angry customers if there were no games. Or at least, there would be angry ex-customers. As for this: Originally Posted By: Hanto it may serve as advertising for the small minority, it also warns the vast majority to keep their money in their pockets and look for other avenues to spend it. Jeff does the same thing with difficulty. He puts out difficulties so people of different skills can all enjoy the game. I don't know if you're offended that torment is too hard for you or what, but I don't really understand why it's an issue. -
Also, it is mentioned that Carsta'rl (or whatever his name is) has been giving Moritz'kri supplies. While the mage may be more powerful than the master, the master is the one who can obtain supplies. Moritz'kri is thus dependent on the good will of of Carsa'rl for his materials. One should not bite the hand that feeds one.

Wait... how is owning books the same as collecting books? Are you considering buying books to read and then keeping them to be collecting or hoarding? Or do you people buy the books just to own them? If the former is the case, I'm a theoretical book collector. If I had more time and money, I would own far more books.

Geneforge Series Backup Save and Character Editor
A less presumptuous name. replied to Malahak's topic in Tech Support
Not sure about the saves, but G2 has no official character editor. -
Just a few comments: I don't agree that the middle specializations are the only good ones. Playing on easy (because I play to enjoy), I found that my shoddy builds were good enough, and I never even bothered to retrain more than one of my characters. Moritz'kri acts like a baby in front of his lord because that's how one acts when accused of crimes in front of one's lord. I didn't find him to be a puzzling character at all; if anything he was predictable. Also, would you care to mention any non-optional boss fights that had specific Zelda-like kill methods? I can't think of many, and those that did seemed to do a good job of telling you what to do (i.e. Moritz'kri).

Facial hair doesn't grow faster after shaving. It seems like that because you don't shave for the first dozen or more years of life and then you have to shave again after a month or two. The hair is growing faster because you're growing up. Also, the older peach fuzz is thinner and lighter at the tips, and new hairs growing out are thicker and darker because they're fresh (thicker by nature and darker by lack of sun), which gives the appearance of a thicker mustache.

That's actually a very well-reasoned explanation for a very smart-*$$ joke. -
If you're asking what stat increases energy, the answer is intelligence.

Excise tax - regulation cost = profit. Simple enough. Of course, you can't put too high of an excise tax or people will continue to purchase the drugs illegally. And then the regulation costs have to deal with quality, vendors, and not other issues that we already have with alcohol. Does the excise tax on alcohol cover all of the funds spent enforcing DUI laws? Not at all.

It seems as though I am late to the party. Economic Left/Right: -3.62 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.85 Not really a surprise for me. Like some others, I hesitate to go with the "very" options and thus tended to be closer to the origin. Originally Posted By: Dantius Okay, fine, I retook it. Checks can get pretty mutilated themselves. Having had many a check get jammed in the printer on my register at work, I can say for certain that being a check is certainly not a glorious life style. -

What Aran doesn't say, though, is that most of the newbies are really just more Aranbots coming in to pollute the IP address pool. -
It should be noted that the Avernum series is currently being remade. The mac version just started beta testing, and it should be out before the end of the year. Unless you want to try the clunky engine of the original games, I would recommend trying Avadon now and, if you have time later, coming back for the Avernum remakes. But really, there are free demos for all of the games available from Spiderweb's site. See what you like!
