  1. Or Stunning Blow in Avernum 5. Other than that, stun generally doesn't affect anyone a whole lot. Of course, if you're hasted to have 10 AP and you get stunned, you probably lose your second attack.
  2. Drosstro's cryodrayk thugs killed me many, many times in Khima-Uss, and Porphyra is beastly powerful but a fun fight. I never completely destroyed Derenton Freehold, but I never really tried either.
  3. Only dialogue as far as I know. Dorikas believes that non-humans can be a part of the Empire as long as they don't cause trouble. So he has at least one moderate position. Or that's what Ruth told me...
  4. And never the twain shall meet. Well, actually Avernum 5 has a lot of Geneforge graphics. So I guess you could guess stuff like Searing Wyrmkin = Searing Artila Fire lizard = Fyora Eyebeast = Eyebeast (no duh) Drake = Drayk etc. It's still anathema. Feel free to connect Avernum with Nethergate, though.
  5. If you have creations... Click to reveal.. cast Mental Barrier before talking to him . It will save some annoyance.
  6. This thread is going nowhere. But to avoid hypocrisy, I shall cast my vote for Wingbolts. Great magic tanks, great accurate attack, and their cousin the Unstable Firebolt has three powerful attacks when hasted. Although my faithful Trakovite servile, Learned Tal, never once subjected a fellow creation to his rule.
  7. The Mercuric Vest is what makes Fast on Feet worth it for an archer. I was really disappointed that poor Mrrowl wasn't getting two shots every so often, but the Vest made him very happy.
  8. It is indeed Incantor Horazon, or Horamon, or whatever his name is. Hopefully you didn't kill the golem, although if you did, you could get everything except Resistance from Shanker, but only if you lied to Sgt. Cienna.
  9. I just met Solberg's talking pet hellhound. Honestly, what kind of name is "Cheeseball Two?"
  10. You are correct. Vahnavoi are reanimated Vahnatai warriors. Details.
  11. I see. Well, thanks anyway. At least I'm in Tranquility now, so I won't have to wait long.

  13. I was wondering if there is any way of improving the spell strength of a piercing crystal. My party just finished Khora-Vysss and I can't destroy the barrier behind the shaman's room. I might not get dispel barrier for a while (I'm about to enter Tranquility for the first time) but I'd like to deal with that barrier and others like it as soon as I can. As an aside, Upper Khora-Vysss was probably as much fun as I've ever had in Avernum. And the Slithzerikai Horror was truly a worthy opponent. Thanks, Jeff!
  14. Hey, me like Gorp. Gorp nice ogre.
  15. Oh, goodie. Now I feel better about freeing the mayor's pet drake.
  16. They look like flawed crystals, but they are not. A fellow in Harkin's Landing will pay nicely for them (and even give you something special eventually).
  17. Okay, so one says the req's are 6 Int, 8 Melee/Pole, and the other says 4 Int, 8 Melee/Pole. The first is the true level of requirements, but you start out with 2 Intelligence, so the second describes what you actually need to invest in.

Right now, there's really no point in training spells above level 1. Even better, introduce the Nethergate system. Then we won't need to worry about buying extra levels at all.
  19. You want to save a LOT for skill trainers as they are generally very expensive (>1000 coins per level of just about anything).
  20. You start out knowing all Battle Disciplines, but you need a certain level of "battle skills" for each one. I believe the formula is Melee + Pole + Bows/2 + Thrown/2 = Battle skills.
  21. In other words, go straight North.
  22. Pefko is always on the lookout for spies, so it makes sense that she would have you on the job until Lysstak is gone. After all, he makes more traitors all the time.
  23. Dellinger is inside the entrance to his claim just east of the center of the Drake Pillars area (unless he moved, which could be). Liaison Rivlin is a nephil who hangs out in Blackchasm Fortress. Ronaldo is in a little nook along the north edge of the Northern Isles. Just search them all, you'll run into him eventually.
  24. Other than what The Ratt and I have said, I'm not sure what you could mean.
