  1. Of course to get to the controls you do have to walk through a field or two. The eye's controls or in a building just off the road to the northwest.
  2. You can either train more, or try different stratagies. I would suggest training more, then coming back to it.
  3. It may seem like that, but for every single participant in the battle the computer needs to calculate which enemy is weakest or attacked last, and what to do, and if you stick in fifty fighters for each side, that is a lot of decision making. Then it also needs to do all the graphics for the creatures moving both before and during the battle. While it wouldn't bog down newer computers, older computers may be pushed towards their limits.
  4. The battle concept sounds interesting (I think there is a large battle in an Avernum game), but the "All sides decide to stop fighting for several months while a group of representatives from every single cult gather to have a peace talk that ends in a large battle between the shapers and rebels (no one else)" Is unlikely to happened. Also I think a large battle would be hard to survive and portray in turn based battles, not to mention it would just be too much thinking for some older computers.
  5. The warrior really fits my playing style. I can create strong creations, I can hit hard in melee or with missiles, and it isn't extremely expensive to get a few basic spell skills, like blessing, for those long or tough fights.
  6. Hey someone else with similar interests! I too would like to make an oozebeast. Though they lack in speed and power, they would make up for it by spraying acid. And they're cool.
  7. I like the idea of discussing it out of character, since that would allow for the most content. YOu could include creation and pc stats, suggested builds for each of the character types, and links to geneforge help stuff, to name a few.
  8. Off to the upperish left of Monarch's throne room area. There is a shaping platform in it, with a cupboard in the corner that you can't open when monarch is alive.
  9. People would just do it too often and not get the full experience of the game.
  10. I'm kinda wondering what happened to all his living tools. Unless the lock itself is the problem.
  11. Well at least you would consider using it, compared to war tralls which most people just leave out. Also the idea of the two hits in one round is quite attactive, especially with enough quick action. Also don't you think the war trall is quite generic too? Large strong humaniods that look like trolls? Even then name is similar.
  12. Actually the thing I would want to replace the war trall would be something I call an assault alpha. It is a biped, maybe seven to eight feet tall, has brownish patterned fur all over its body except its chest abdominal area, palms of hands, and soles of feet, which are covered in extremely tough hide. Its limbs look lanky, but are extremely muscled, it's hands are humanish, but with large sharp claws, like a velociraptor's, and it's feet are like a mix between human and wolf and have claws like the hands. It's head has a human cranium, with a mix between a goat and wolf muzzle, that has vicious fangs. instead of a nose and mouth. The ears are horse-like on top of the head. It can roar loudly, move very quickly, and rip apart plate armor with its claws and teeth. It has keen hearing, smell, and sight, but is intelligent and obedient, kinda like a dog. It can't speak human tongues. What do you think? How would you like to fight those instead of War Tralls? Or make them instead of war tralls? Drakons and gazers would be toast.
  13. Dude... digimon all the way... But still I like how you owned the Elite Four with a card. I guess you can throw it pretty hard. I also would like to see the Trall replaced, only with a true battle creation that follows the trends and attacks with melee. Only you'd actually want to use him.
  14. I'll PM you. Or not, you have private messaging disabled.
  15. Yeah, I do that to. Doesn't risk Greenfang's life.
  16. It would trigger if you tried to go into shailia's lair from that side.
  17. But, Slarty, Anarizzyth (sorry about spelling) brings up a point. If you can clear the zone by killing all the shapers then you could go out the other way, and go to the next zone without ever going through the Cairn Gates. But I doubt this since often to clear a zone you need to see the way to another zone. Edit: Tested last theory. Does not work because the barracks that holds the lever that opens the gates does not open until the caravan comes through.
  18. And if you believe that the Trakovites have a view worth spreading put a =:T:= in your signature like me.
  19. Greenfang gets killed in the shaper attack when you finish the shailia quest if you didn't have him with you. From what it sounds like Greenfang would turn back, even if you did defeat all the shapers early and went through.
  20. Omniwhatever Blade: You need to change the last line of your signature. I've also noticed that the people that say they can keep them don't tell us how. It makes it seem as though they could be lying.
  21. True, but not horrible necromancy. Recently a topic from July was revived in Tech Support, that is bad necromancy.
  22. One thing about those custom items is that if you make stuff too high it will go into the negatives. I know from experience that you can give +200 to any stat without anything wierd happening, but going much higher than that is probably not advised. Also, the damage weapons do is based on some level, which is not understandable at a glance, which makes making your weapon seem quite impossible to get. From my experiments it seems a weapon can only do about 30-250? without it going negative.
  23. Be nice. He was on topic at least, and if you read, the topic was kinda drifting in that direction already. Though I do not argue that his comment wasn't superfluous.
  24. As I stated at the very beginning of this thread, check the Code of Community (if someone could provide a link that would be nice). It states, that you should not think of such things as averforge or generum, because they were not meant to be the same world, and thinking that irks Jeff.
  25. I second randomizer's point. Most people just drool over graphics, which may be partially why spiderweb isn't excessively mainstream. I'm amazed at how this topic got revived.
