  1. That would break Brotherhood of the Hand, where to progress beyond a certain point you have to get rid of all your food.
  2. ??? You don't have to "unlock" the version off the Google source page, that's free. There's no registration function because it doesn't need one. You sure you're not using the old version from the Spiderweb homepage?
  3. Okay... Town: Zenith Citadel, second floor. Vargas is sitting behind his desk in the northernmost room of said town. (This is before the main plot starts.) Tasks done: - Finding the lost boys - Killing the chicken-eating warg - Making a Potion of Light for the Alchemists' Guild - Finding the Dead Man's Poppy - Finding a Golden Unicorn Horn - Getting rid of Bruno (and his demoness) for the Fighters' Guild - Proving that Alexander murdered Melanie (the ghost) - Killing all three Cave Worms for the guy in Club Z
  4. Hello, I'm here to report the first regression in Classic BoE 1.0... In AC3, Vargas will not recognize when the party has done the required number (six) of side quests. Not sure what the bug is, want me to provide a savefile?
  5. Ooh... Yeah, I had my PCs wearing Boots of Speed. This should definitely be fixed then.
  6. FWIW the webbed-into-immobility issue seems to be fixed now, using the current beta I've yet to see anyone's AP go below 2 even when heavily webbed.
  7. Couple problems with that: - Dumbfound didn't seem to work on monsters last I checked. They could still cast spells of any level when dumbfounded. (Might be fixed though?) My bad, dumbfounding does in fact work now. It just never gets monsters to the point where they can't cast any spells. - Levels currently are still capped at 50 AFAIK, unless there's something odd going on internally? By, ahem, "clever" use of the Character Editor and Gain Experience nodes it's possible to gain experience equivalent to 200+ levels worth, but the PCs still appear as level 50 and their spells are no more effective than those of a level 50 PC. Edit: Also, one more issue (just one, I promise ) - walking in non-combat mode gets slow (the time delay between steps increases) when animated terrain is in view, and gets slower the more animated terrain there is in sight. This might be a problem with running in Wine though. Can anyone on Windows confirm it?
  8. Idea for a new monster ability... Mindduel. If a party contains spellcasters, the monster has a chance of selecting one within twelve spaces and invoking Mindduel (as with the spell, but no Smoky Crystals needed). For this Mindduel would have to be working correctly, of course...
  9. Something I just noticed - the Mindduel issue isn't resolved in Beta 1, i.e. mindduels are still weighted very heavily in monsters' favor, even with rings of will. Ideally, I would say that a level 40 monster with level 7 mage spells should be roughly equal to a level 50 mage with 20 intelligence. As it is, the monster will win every time.
  10. As far as monster stats go, I think the biggest thing is monster skill level. Raising the max for that would allow designers to make monsters very tough *without* making them immune to everything, making combat more interesting at high levels.
  11. Hey, here's a big fat bug... When you buy spells in Classic Blades Beta 1, they only go to the first PC in the party. All the other PCs don't get the spells. Things should not work this way; you should at least get a PC selection dialog, and the documentation IIRC says that buying a spell should give it to all PCs.
  12. Chokboyz: Wow... That is definitely... Not what I expected. Thanks anyway.

If you did either that's the cause of the problem (i.e TM not wanting people to play his scenario in debug mode, killing everything on sight ). (note that using the Debug Kill command to kill the first three red forms may as well kill the blue form depending on how the special chain is done) As far as i can tell, the Lenin's Pendant is only used to bypass the barriers right after the stairs at the beginning of the Lair of the Red Star. I was able to play the encounter and escape without any problem. Nope, in my case it was triggered when the second to last form was killed. The final blue form was never killed, and I was definitely not in debug mode.
  14. I've just been playing Angband for a bit, and it's gotten me thinking... The dual-wield system in BoE could use some working on. Basically, everyone makes their PCs ambidextrous, and as long as two one-handed weapons do more damage than one two-handed one, there's no reason to use the two-handed weapon. I think it would be cool to change that a bit. The new system would still have to be pretty basic, but I don't see that as an issue. It could look something like this: - Bladed weapons: can only be dual-wielded with other bladed. - Bashing weapons: can only be dual-wielded with other bashing. - Pole weapons: cannot be dual-wielded at all. Additionally... - Dual-wielded weapons would be less likely to assassinate, whether the PC is ambidextrous or not. - Two-handed weapons would get an intrinsic damage bonus and be more likely to assassinate. I'm not sure how this would impact old scenarios - maybe if implemented it should be optional? Still, it seems like an interesting idea to me.
  15. It went off when the Ultimate Weapon's first form died - when Katothen opened up a way out of Deacon's lair and the invulnerable blue second form appeared. One of my PCs was wearing Lenin's pendant, so I'm pretty sure this wasn't supposed to happen.
  16. Huh... Anyone know what causes the "Unfortunately you die!" special node to be wrongly triggered in Bandits 2? If anyone can tell me what is going on there, that will be my first bug report... (Unless it's a scenario bug. In which case, it's the worst I've seen in a while. )
  17. Pardon me, but where's the repository? I'd like to try out this new version.
  18. This sounds nice, but it might break compatibility with some scenarios... The Grinches in Falling Stars come to mind, for instance. (Without the Invuln flag they'd be pathetic.)
  19. Thanks... It turned out there was a button hidden in a pillar. D'oh.
  20. ... Hmm, treasure room contains a bunch of cursed items. Useless. Meanwhile, there's a whole other part of this dungeon, where Silver Dragon is presumably hiding... How do I get there?
