  1. Question six isn't really necessary. I suppose I could scan for typos afterwards, but anyone can do that.
  2. Fire. I kept the same fyora throughout the whole demo.
  3. I've tried flying in there before, it doesn't work.
  4. Wow, thought it'd be lame. I shouldn't have even mentioned it.
  5. Quote: That means that three of my characters level up together, and my Slith a little bit after. The game seems to distribute experience unevenly amongst characters if there's any difference in xp penalty, is this true? I thought the penalty increased the necessary xp required to raise the level, not the xp gained.
  6. What are those shaper creation/ pig looking, immobile things on a pedestal that direct the facility. I think I remember the name being pretty lame though, oh well.
  7. With the alchemy, I'd suggest beginning with just enough to brew healing potions. The tool use isn't a biggie, I think you need about four or five early on, and this also increases with dexterity. With the weapons, I'd say to pump the dexterity as well as strength. The beginning of the game doesn't require heavy spell casting. I suggest a level three priest, one mage. That way you can heal yourself and cast light and firebolt. I don't think ice lances can be added after gaining about four or five levels.
  8. The problem with compulsive saving occurs when you absentmindedly do something stupid.
  9. Quote: Exodush Rather strange that the same weird typo occurs twice in a month. Ah Kel, I'm satisfied with what we currently have. You don't need update if you don't want to.
  10. Wow Imban, I haven't seen you around in eons. -Now we need Alec to surface.
  11. Report sent Edit: I forgot to mention in the e-mail that you should change the level suggestion to 40-50 instead of 40-45.
  12. This is how what my usual party is composed of: Warrior - Slith, Sickness Prone Archer - Nephil, Strong Back, Sickness Prone Priest - Human, Natural Mage, Sluggish Mage - Human, Natural Mage, Sluggish. I've experimented the most with Archers. I've given him cursed at birth, but it results in too much damage. I've also given an archer fast on feet and nimble fingers. However, I find Strong Back most useful because I can carry a ton of bolts early on. Sickness prone is useful because it doesn't seem to make much of a difference. I always give a slith that trait. A sluggish spellcaster isn't much of a setback. They don't need to move around much anyways, and I'm not usually in a rush for them to cast a spell before everyone else. Archers should always be Nephil. They're 10% penalty is easily counteracted by the Sickness Prone trait. Additionally, Nephilim have a bonus to bows and a very useful +2 dexterity bonus from the beginning that increases over time. Because of their dexterity bonus, they also serve as great masters of tool use.
  13. When I encounter problems like this I use ResEdit to convert the Windows .bmp files to a .cmg file. It's easy to do if you know how to reset the scripts for the Mac graphics.
  14. This is why Avernum should have a scry monster spell and a bestiary like its predecessor. I actually remember those rats. All four of my characters pit themselves with their dinky weapons, and I barely made it out alive.
  15. Okay, that means I'll have to port it again but oh well.
  16. The following would be in reference to your typical party, or most recent party if you choose.
  17. That's what I thought. Oh well, thanks anyways.
  18. Iffy, I've made a working Mac version. I will send it to you shortly.
  19. I will try, but I can't promise it will work. Edit: I've already converted scripts, I need to port the graphics. I also need to do all that other porting stuff. So its still not a promise, but I'm pretty sure I can take care of the Windows to Mac port. Edit2: Wow, converting the graphics is easier than I think. Expect me to e-mail you a mac version tomorrow, unless I encounter some sort of severe problem.
  20. There's a tiny rectangle/square/ring of trees in the area of Libras. Quite frankly, it looks like it has some way to enter it, but I've never found one. So is this just some taunting bunch of trees Jeff placed there, or is there a way in?
  21. Name: Timothy Palmer E-mail: int80@sbcglobal.net Operating System: Mac OS 9.2.2 or Windows 2000 Professional (I'd prefer Mac) Experience: Shades of Gray, Tales from the Tabard Inn Note: If you send me the Mac version (which I hope you do), you must compress the file with WinZip, not StuffitExpander. Edit: Quote: If you want a tester that DOESN'T suck, then I'm your man. Geez Lazarus, don't need to keep a grudge with Nikki.
  22. Quote: You don't stick bread; after conditions. When I first saw that, I thought someone was mentioning the band by the name of Bread.
