  1. Try removing Avernum 2's preferences (in the system folder) when you reinstall it. I have an old iMac as well, and I've never encountered this problem before.
  2. You can make it easier by selecting the "no wandering monsters" option, but I never used it. The weakening option gave creatures half as many hit points, and didn't offer much of a challenge at all. Edit: realized this was about E2 instead of E3. Oops. I don't remember if you can eliminate wandering monsters in E2.
  3. Are you talking about the Troglodyte Khazi you must assasinate? There's a pedestal or something in the cavern with several buttons. Changing one of the values makes the walls inside the gate to the Khazi's lair move, and I usually solve it by writing down what button moves what.
  4. Turning on the number lock works for me.

  6. When I played the demo I never rid myself of my first fyora, nor did I conjure another beast for my aid. Fyora all the way!
  7. Quote: I don't remember the special button that causes the man to change his inventory, but he'll eventually sell things like Blessed Greatswords, Blessed Platemail, etc. "Command + W" on a Mac, or at least with Exile 3.
  8. Sluggish is always useful for spell casters I think. They don't need to move around much, and I haven't noticed any considerable disadvantage caused by their lack of speed.
  9. There's a chest behind the Mayor's office in Formello that always killed me. I had thought capture soul didn't work on powerful creature such as wizards and dragons, but maybe I'm thinking of Avernum. I never tried to kill Motrax, but I'd assume he's relatively weak. My only experience in town slaying is A3's Shayder; over and over and over....
  10. You said "shapers of rebels" twice. I usually side with the rebels in any game, especially A Small Rebellion.
  11. Oops! Sorry about that. Thank you.

  15. There's an apprentice somewhere in the Tower of Magi who lost some school stuff. This apprentice, however, is allowed to speak. Finish the quest and you shall be rewarded.
  16. Just to clear things up: I download the Windows version to my Windows and convert the Windows version to a Mac version on my Mac and then play it. I've tried to unstuff many things with Stuffit, but it closes itself after a few seconds. It's only capable of decompressing stuff off of eight-year-old installer CDs, or things I compress myself. int80@sbcglobal.net
  17. Ah, I see, that explains why you can't wait a month. I'm actually waiting for the Windows version as well, since my Mac can't run it.

    HELP!

Well, if you've already purchased the game you can copy it from your old computer from the laptop. However, I assume this isn't the case. If so, e-mail Jeff along with your registration information and he should send you a new registration code.
  20. I unfortunately downgraded StuffitExpander on my Macintosh awhile back, which prevents me from downloading any scenarios to it. I currently download the other version to my Windows computer and convert the graphics from there. However, the graphics in the Windows version I downloaded seem to be corrupted, as neither computer can read them. So can someone e-mail me the uncompressed Mac graphics (.cmg) file? Thank you. Edit: Oh, I'm speaking of Where the Rivers Meet if you didn't understand the abbreviation.
  21. Has anyone finished it? I was incapable of passing the second town.
  22. So is Emerald Mountain. The chart is hard to decipher though. I love the footnote in there.
  23. I suggest playing through Tales From the Tabard Inn next.
  24. Well, I suppose someone who has the capability of reading computer script can. Otherwise everyone should cope just fine.
