What does "Other Non-Religious" entail? I realize that some questions were not answered by everyone, so the percentages don't necessarily add up, but I'm wondering what percentage of people were female? I don't remember if that was a required question or not. The community is less theist than I thought it was. It seems as though more conservative members are far less likely to participate in political discussions, which is in no way surprising. Are American members more religious than non-American members? (I would assume so, but heck. I am also assuming that this would be answered in the next topic.) It would be interesting to see how religious beliefs correspond to political beliefs, but given the sample size and the fact that the majority of people (with a few outliers) are centered around one point, it would be impractical to do so (and out of the interest of not identifying people). I guess a more generalized correlation could be made, but it wouldn't be all that meaningful. This is a fascinating poll. Thanks for putting this together!

My friends sometimes convince me to play XBox with them. I always complain that the game never gives me any reason to be shooting things. I can't think of any games exclusive to XBox worth mentioning.

Typical politician hypocrisy: I smoked pot and got away with it so now I need to raid your houses with SWAT teams and terrify your families in order to prevent you from smoking pot. Edit: I could bring up a plethora of other reasons that he isn't liberal but I don't feel like writing and essay on a Monday night after work.

If it does, it's still not as convenient as a TI-89 for simpler problems, or an advanced program like Wolfram Alpha or MathCad for more complex problems.

Where I live the two primary concerns are brush fires and flash floods. Nevada is seismically active and there have been significant earthquakes in the past, too. In 2006 a brush fire came within ten feet of our house and melted our siding, but the wind coincidentally blew the other way so the house didn't catch fire. We have flash floods every once in a while that tear up roads. We have a gravel driveway and a huge chunk of it disappeared after one such flood, along with a nice section of the road. Also, every once in a while a species of katydid known as the Mormon Cricket (its name is a misnomer) swarms and causes severe traffic hazards and crop destruction. The swarms are so dense in places that they completely cover the ground. They get crushed by vehicles causing the road to become extremely slick. This is further exacerbated by the fact that they're cannibalistic so more Mormon crickets swarm out to eat their dead fellows in the road and more slick guts ensue. Fortunately, they're incapable of flight and can't climb anything worth a damn so you can keep them out of your property with a simple barricade. (There hasn't been any definitive explanation for why the swarms happen in the first place)

The whole nonlinear thing is what started me playing these games in the first place. I mean, you didn't even have to kill those cockroaches!
