  1. Just buff the Shapers and let them beat Ghaldring for you. They don't require _that_ much help. I did that on Torment with a level 10 character and one or two tralls.

The bowstring is actually a magic item, you just need a bow to wear it because there's no string slot. If you could wield a guitar instead, you'd get a 30% accuracy bonus.

But the luck boots are better against anything that attacks HER if your attacks ever miss.
  4. Shift+D, resetbugs Unless you don't have a save from before she kicked you out.
  5. 37 Int on a level 48 Lifecrafter = 1823 essence = 10 + 37 * (48 + 1), as expected.

A Vlish tentacle is as long as a Fyora is tall (yet you can easily carry one?). Kyshakks are 12 spans tall (elephant-sized) but weigh less than Battle Alphas (14 spans). In Geneforge 4, a Drakon standing next to a Kyshakk makes the Kyshakk look small in comparison (in description)!
  7. You can't raise a skill above 31 but you can get bonuses from items. So the maximum Intelligence is 37 and there's no point raising any other stat anywhere near that high.

Don't even waste your time finding out why I hate this creation. It does have a redeeming quality: 100 cold resistance (practically (but not theoretically) 100% since the game never throws enough Cryoas at you to overcome a regeneration aura). Meaning they're useful in about three places in the whole game, plus maybe Sammann's Isle. Quote: The Gazer is a very interesting creation. Its magic attack is hands down the most dangerous single attack in the game when blessed. Ur-Drakons do a whopping 16.5 more damage at equal level, and a lot more if you count the lightning aura. Quote: The Eyebeast. Hands down, more powerful creation in the game. But its useless; by the time you get it, your creations are more then adequate. Oh well. I disagree: you can get to Inner Gazaki-Uss at a fairly low level, and the Invincible Wingbolts make it easy to get the canister. By the way, the Gazer's (and Eyebeast's) melee attack stuns a lot more than the Glaahk (ab_effect_per_level = 6 vs 1, ab_status_effect_per_level = 3 vs 1), so a mix of Shock Tralls and Gazers may be optimal for stunlocking.

  10. O RLY? text1 = "_I saw your face. You ... You were like an animal. You couldn't think. You were just ... angry. Just furious. That's all you were. And your face ... it was ... It was like wax. It seemed to shift around._";
  11. The group of four golems in Kayar's Spire Cells kills me in one round with just their auras (they kill my party if I get out of the way). The Thuggish Tralls on Sammann's Isle would have killed some of my Eyebeasts if I hadn't meatshielded for them. I'd have done the same with the Wormhost Rotghroth, but it acted before me. My whole (uncontrolled) party dealt fire damage, so I went to melee with the Charged Drakon (99% fire resist even after you disable his protection) and took hits from the Gazer who cleverly hid behind a wall to escape the Eyebeasts.

A Shaper can get 94% armor and 90% resistances (80% for stun and acid, less for poison) A Shaper is not an army. A Shaper is Chuck Norris: what's Torment for everyone else is Casual for him.
  13. Uncontrolled Eyebeasts in GF5 sometimes cast Charm at creations that have gone rogue. Too bad it never does anything useful - I'm beginning to suspect my Eyebeast just wants to take over my army before turning on me...

I levelled up to 4 just before leaving the Whitespires. I snuck into the Secret Laboratory through West Shadow road and got the Infiltrator's Tunic. I distracted the Murkwood bandits with Thahds and snuck into the cave via the front door. I used the same tactics with the golems in Kratoa Stoneworks: the second set of servant golems were the only dormant golems to ever wake up. Note the key you can get from Somini is useless. The power core gave me level 5. I let the golems kill Makar outside combat mode and got no experience for it. I sacrificed Thahds and Fyoras for the Solidified Flame in Thistlewood, then reloaded many times before successfully escaping the bandits (really should have just escaped first - the bandits only spawn once). Perikalia Orchards is cleared by crossing, Gazaki-Uss not required. I got the Essence-Infused Iron from Kayar's Spire Cells by luring the guards to the Servant Mind one at a time. The one in Dera Lost Vault would have been easier, though: surrounding the Eyebeast with Thahds will buy you enough time to escape. At level 7 I'm only missing an Agent's cloak, a decent piece of body armor and a better ring than Dhonal's Band.
  15. I killed two at level 7 with Charm (~80% resist chance) and Corrupted Thahds (3 Battle Shaping, +2 Strength from Firesteel Gauntlets, 75% hit chance when blessed) on Torment. Could have done it with just the Thahds - I had enough essence pods to make 60 of them.
  16. You can already create Ur-Drakons, Battle Betas, Lightning Bolts (Unstable Firebolts) and Siege Ogres (Shock Tralls). Keeping Mehken is sort of like creating a servile (the essence cost is the 1 Int you lose).
  17. Talisman of Might = Gold Necklace + Purification Elixir + Rotghroth Fang (4% armor, +4 Strength, +5 Vampiric Touch) Inspired by this thread about the mental focus charm. I wonder if there are recipes that could never be found in-game in any of G3-G5?
  18. It's been that way since G2 (G1?). At a certain point, certain low-level monsters start giving you more experience. It'll eventually stop, so enjoy it while it lasts.
  19. Quote: The Storm Plains <snip> Leadership 11 is a must here. What am I missing with 10? 10 has also seemed sufficient in the Dera Reaches so far. The highest leadership check I'm aware of is 13 in Control Core B (if you want to save all three minds). 12 is useful in the endgame and shortly before it. Then Astoria, as releasing the Shredbugs would alienate her. Then Litalia so you can destroy Trakovite Haven for the Drakons afterwards. Hmm, Astoria + Litalia + Ghaldring might lower your reputation dangerously much. I never had that problem as I did Alwan before Litalia (her Storm Plains quest alienates him). All of the above is a big IIRC.
  21. Kyshakks are impossible, as G1-3 lack the 'Surrounded by lightning' status effect. The Wingbolt is just a weaker Gazer with a different melee attack and fewer resistances. Adding its attacks and replacing an existing creation should work. I think Ornks would be the most fun to replace. Or Pyroroamers.
