Well the Asp gloves aren't cursed the have 1 Def a value of 20 and are magic. The ability is ???. No encumb at all. They might randomly poison you but I haven't worn them long enough.

Yeah vorb just seems to damage or disease me. I thought maybe I was using it wrong or something. What about Asp gloves? I thought they might poison me but I don't see any effect. I did find out why my hair was falling out lol. Stupid radioactive bars.

I'm doing another play through of Exile 2 and there is one thing that has always bugged me. These items that even when identified only say their purpose is ???. What gives? Is there a list somewhere that explains exactly what these things do. Such as Wand of Vorb or Asp Gloves. Some items seem only to poison and disease your party.

ooooh I know. Got it figured out now. I moved it after installing it. But when I just did a quick re-install and ran it from the default location it works fine. edit: k cancel that.. I know for sure what's going on.. I originally just copied BoE from a backup, didnt install it. At work here, I downloaded and isntalled Exile 3 demo even with moving it after it makes both work fine. Uninstall Exile 3 and BoE stops showing text. So in conclusion it's my own fault for not installing it properly. I thought I had. Was thinking of a different game Exile 2 or something...

Nah that makes things go even more wonky. It flips back and forth constantly. But guess what. Win95 compatibility mode works on XP Pro! Unfortunatley this my work computer so playing here isn't much of an option. I guess I could try using Avernum but I like the old Exile graphics I fell in love with so many years ago... edit: Hey, just to test I turned off compatibility mode and it still works.. The only thing that's different today is that the computer has been restarted since installing the game, after doing a few XP updates. I'm going to try this at home.

Didnt do anything for me. It's exactly as it was before. I tried the demo on a different computer using XP pro and it does the same thing. Main screen buttons have no text and dialogue is missing

Um hey I was just wondering why the text on the main menu buttons in Exile 3 and Blades of Exile are um not there... Also trying to talk to NPCs in game shows no text only the icon of their face. This is on WinXP. Anyone else seen this?
