...However there is a certain satisfaction in walking into the Rebel camp and casting mass madness on everything in existance. That'll teach Blaze and co. But seriously, you don't need all that power. At level 40 you are more or less invincible with the right equipment.

Did he say "fun"? He just said it was "possible" and I agree. The "best" we can hope for in MP is about that unless some SW fanatic suddenly decides to hand Jeff a million dollars.

Because scaling up the graphics from previous Avernum games would have made them look ugly, that's why. Thanks tips. It shouldn't be to hard to create more character portraits. There are thousands of them for games like NWN and Baldures Gate. And you can edit the character figures in paint if your desperate.

lol. I wonder if Jeff realised the typo he was making when he wrote that.

Servile is a very good starting character. Lifecrafted takes skill to create, Warrior isent the best. Try a Servile or Infiltrator.

I miss Exile.

My god! You yourselfs say you left your sanity at the door but whenever I make even the slightest attempt at a joke you suddenly go "Gosh isent he weird" This one at least A) Expressed my feelings My like of the Exile style C) My respect for a returned oldbie and D) My distinction between the old and new engines. Boys, please, read past the insanity to see the underlying order amongst the seeming chaos. (At least I'm not associating people with fruit) /Thinks to self if they will ever get it. -
I miss Exile.

Greetings pilgrim. You have come to the forums in dark times, for the ancient world is fading even as we speak. The great power the Exile graphics held over the viewers is seeping away. Only united can we stem the flow of the tyranical "Tech mode" and save the series from extinction! Join me! Together we shall conqure this threat and once and for all secure the future of the chess-effect 2-D modes! MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!![Etc etc etc] -
Erasing Saved Games
Jeran Korak replied to CherylJ's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
As Aloreal stated, The process is almost the same for Windows. Simply open the folder then look for the save in qustion then simply delete it. -

You mean like Red Dragon Desciple and Arcane Archer from NWN? I agree, prestige classes are good and add diversity to the game. But they are bloody hard to create correctly.

The problem is that the basic rules on a "Strong Magic, average shaping" (Is that the right one?) would give you an insane advantage without some major reduction in other areas.

My friend you have just revealed the exact reasons why I only plyed A4 through once. But you have missed out a few points (Forgive me if I missed them, I skimmed a few bits) A4 I think was more an experiment. It did lack the beauty of the Exile and Avernum series while not opening itself fully to the power of the Geneforge series. I most certainly wouldn't call it a faliue but it dosent have the homeliness of Exile or the Story-Line of Geneforge. I do honestly hope they get rid of the avernum movment system in A5, it just does _not_ make the game better in any way with that style of graphics. What I really want is to see another game with Avernum's graphics engine. I miss them almost painfully at times.

I mantain my masterly neutrality on this subject. /Strides off stage with a dagger of ice 5+ and an evil grin. EDIT: Noo! this cannot be! I try and make a totally original gimmick and find out someone else had it first!

If you do want to know... You need to get into a massivly guarded enemy fortress, fight your way past hundreds of Pylons, Guards, Demons and others. Then you must defeat the shades who become even more powerful when they are vunerable. They summon hordes of powerful followers, blast your party with fear, fire, acid, hail and other terrible afflictions.

I want to see my old G3 PC turn up again! Barring that I think G5 should be a post-armageddon world were the shaper-rogue war has devestated the planet a bit like Heros of Might and Magic VI were two waring factions had wiped each other off the face of the earth by a holocaustic explosion. A thousand years after the war were the earth is devestated and humans are reduced to small communitys with myths about a war among the gods and lifemakers etc etc.

A4 - A few probs. getting north of Fort Emerald etc.
Jeran Korak replied to flaypass's topic in Second Avernum Trilogy
You can't get outside of the Fort for quite a while, do more quests in the castle. Also its possible to script to get outside of the Fort but I'd recommend waiting, the monsters on the other side are quite tough. -
two kyshakk's and something of your choice.

*sigh* In numbers: how much essance do you have. Which Area (name) are you in? Which creations (names) can you make?
-
What's your total essance count and what creations can you currently make? Also, what area are you in?
