  1. Once again, the numbers show the inherent cowardice of Spiderweb members. There is always a large number of people who support the Awakened, yet, when the Awakened are taken out of the equation, many turn to the Shapers. This shows that most people support creation rights, but when it comes down to actually fighting for what you believe in, they are afraid to go the extra mile, and instead choose to flee back to the conservative side rather than take a chance with the Rebellion. Me? I choose neither. I choose myself. I choose the Barzites (or Tullegolites). I can't wait for a faction like theirs to return in Geneforge 5. It is the birthright of humanity to use shaping to its full extent. Restrictions are foolish, especially in this time of total war. I will not bow before creations either. I would sooner turn to the Shapers before serving soulless drakon scum.
  2. Starcraft II, Fallout 3 and Geneforge 5 all coming out at the same time? I am so going to flunk out of school. Geneforge 2 was my favorite mostly because of the variety of factions. I have high hopes. Edit: This kind of reminds me of my favorite Mortal Kombat game, Mortal Kombat: Trilogy, where they just included every fighter, move, and arena from every previous game. It was awesome. Geneforge 5 looks awesome for the same reasons.
  3. Since I play the games for the story, not the strategy, I only ever give myself full stats to make myself virtually invincible. I don't give myself spells or creations, as that is the only way to judge how strong I have become at any given point in the game. I never edit sect loyalties, rather I always play the game through multiple times to see every facet the story has to offer.
  4. I figured I'd bump this thread since the game is out for windows now and people have already asked about a few of these things. I personally found this thread very useful. Too bad Sleeping Dragon didn't bother to stick around, though I can't say I blame him. Maybe add this thread to strategy central as sort of a FAQ?
  5. You have completed it, but it will not go away until Lystaak is dead. Go back and talk to the guy (I mean girl?) when he is. Don't worry, you did nothing wrong.
  6. Things like this should always be encouraged in my humble, imperial opinion. Good luck with your project.
  7. I prefer shaping drakons. It makes me feel powerful dominating such a fiercely independent creature. Yeah, where's your rebellion now, eh? Go kill something in my name!

  9. I am a Tullegolite. We believe in human superiority over creations as well as weaker restriction on shaping. Given the choice between the Shapers and Rebels, we would sooner give up our shaping rights than bow to creation. Thus, I would side with the Shapers. The Shapers are guilty of genocide, but I can not hold it against them. They make it their business to eliminate threats to their people, much like we in the real world will eliminate certain species of bacteria and virus because of the threats they pose to us. Their intentions are good, and, I'll bet if you asked them, Shapers would most likely regret having to eliminate these species because of all the potential research and discoveries lost through their extinction. As for Trakovites, you can not compare shaping to nuclear weapons. Do nuclear weapons have the ability to create life? The ability to create new life is infinitely more valuable and far outweighs shaping's destructive powers.
  10. I don't know what any of that means. When will I be able to start writing articles?
  11. Quote: Celtic Minstrel: Why do you have DNA flag? What is this DNA you speak of? Clearly those are essence scrolls. And it's the flag of the Tullegolites, naturally. Quote: Aran: Encyclopedia Ermariana. Quote: Emperor Tullegolar: I always thought it was 'Ermariana.' I win, again. I always win. I am the Emperor.
  12. I guess I spoke too soon on barred.ermarian. Both the ones I liked won? Another victory for the Concluding Resolution.
  13. Quote: Originally written by Love Parallelogram: 'Encyclopedia Ermarian'. I always thought it was 'Ermariana.' I'm happy to see that people like Sucia Archives. Even though the word 'archives' somehow doesn't appear in the games, I think everyone can admit that the word is still somehow more Genforgesque than Encyclopedia. I'm a little disappointed more people don't think barred.ermarian is clever, but the address isn't really that important to me anyway. Edit: I will be contributing a lot. You really are privileged to have me around.
  14. Jeff is pretty notorious for evolving concepts as new games come out. Just look how the geneforge itself has become weakened over four games. He could easily include the unbound as the third level drakon creation in the next game and simply include a few lines of text saying the design has been rewritten for more obedience and less random destruction. Not that I would like for this to happen, I personally am not a fan of big pink dragons.
  15. The Rebels should win Geneforge 4 so that by Geneforge 5 everyone can see how horrible life under their rule would be. I could have sworn I posted in this topic before but maybe I'm thinking of an identical one. Anyway, with a miserable Rebel victory in Geneforge 4, the stage would be set for the possible return of old factions as well as the introduction of new ones. Lots of choices, the way Geneforge was meant to be! As for who should win in Geneforge 5... I've been saying for a while now how great a 'yourself' faction would be. You'd basically gather a bunch of research as well as components by defeating other factions and then build your very own geneforge. Then your ending would basically be you winning, with modifications based on whatever moral decisions you made in game. The perfect ending, in my opinion. The game is called Geneforge after all, yet the actual device's presence has been weak in the past few games.
  16. I liked archives because that term suggests you have to rifle through a lot of crap to find what you want. It's also a word that you would see in the actual games, while words like encyclopedia, codex, and especially arcana seem very unGeneforge. Same with barred. Who cares if it doesn't role off the tongue, it fits with the games! You guys seem to want to abandon the mood for a more professional setting, and while I see the sense in that, it makes me, as a Geneforge fan, sad.
  17. Why don't you like barred.ermarian.net? I thought that one was clever. Edit: I take it no one besides me would want to call it The Radiant College? Damn.
  18. I'm sure Milla didn't mean differentiate in that sense. Probably just thinks the name shouldn't sound the same as EE's, and I agree. It should be something more creative. I like servant minds, but for some reason, Jeff seems to be phasing them out in the games. I like Sucia Archives the best so far. Ah, Sucia, the Jerusalem of the Geneforge world. Plus it would go well with the barred.ermarian.net address.
  19. Terrestia is the less developed of the two Shaper continents. We might not want to get too attached to that name, as the next game might not even take place there. I'm a fan of barred.whatever, myself. Then something simple to call the site, like the Shaper Archives, or the Magus Complex, or something more creative.
  20. Quote: Originally written by Student of Trinity: For that matter, there are probably several people who could summarize all the arguments well and fairly, regardless of which they personally supported, if any. Yes, I believe I already volunteered.
  21. Quote: Originally written by Slarty: I do think it would be nice to be able to say "The Guardian Claymore provides a +2 Strength bonus" rather than "The Guardian Claymore enhances the physical prowess of those who wield it." Oh, all my entries would most definitely be in character.
  22. If Aran made a Geneforge Wiki, I would happily do a ton of the entries myself. And I support the position of keeping everything canonical, unlike all that Ermarian (even the name is fanon) nonsense.
  23. Should have read the 'things you will need' thread. Those threads are seriously the only reason I still come here.
