Chittering Clawbug

Chittering Clawbug (6/17)

  1. As the walkthrough says, by cheating. Now, I haven't tested the trainers (you'll find links to them in Geneforge Series-main), so I don't know whether they give one options to edit abilites.
  2. At least in Photoshop, the tool "Magic Wand" and it's sub-option "Tolerance" offer quite an easy way of getting rid of the compression-smudges. After the general selection, it's quick to just de-select the possible few lighter parts of the graphic which got selected by the wand, and then delete the rest.
  3. I like the wingbolt. And the colors used.
  4. Upping my collections would require quite a bit of work. So no.
  5. The sedond map. No extra info, though, just the place names. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v99/KommandoV/GF4map.jpg
  6. Soldberg, Scab & Asp (I consider X to be a major character, too, but couldn't vote for him and went with the dynamic duo. ), Bargha, Kill Garzahd.
  7. Well okay, okay. 4.5! And that's my final offer.
  8. partially off-topic, but since you guys are talking about bad guys in general anyway.. Gladiator 's version of Commodus is one of my favourite movie antagonists (or villains, it's your pick, really). Give me an enemy like him in, and I'll promise to rate the scenario at least 4.2 on CSR! To the eyes of people around him, he seems to be selfish, cruel and careless. Commodus, on the other hand, sees himself only trying to prove himself to others, and trying to help them (by, at times any means necessary). And oooooh, he's sensitive, lonely and fragile too! He has a family, he commands an empire, and in the end he dies in a dramatical battle against one of his sworn enemies! Grrrreat. Okay, Maximus only meets him briefly in the beginning, and again only in the end portion of the film, but they have a long history behind them, they've practically been like brothers in their childhood, and so forth. Besides, Commodus isn't even aware that Maximus is alive. So I guess it's okay he doesn't much interact with him in the middle. Discuss.
  9. No access to that camp for you, I'm afraid. The outpost in question only serves as an infinite experience pool for the player. :-)
  10. Heh, thanks, I guess. :-) Anyways, I am afraid I still lack a solution to the unbalancing effect this kind of a system would have to the rest of the game. Because seriously, a heavily beefed up and well equipped a warrior ally could wreck the game pretty badly. :-/
  11. Judging by the screenshots, this game will be ENORMOUS! Wow, I personally am getting more and more thrilled by day. :-D
  12. I might understand you wrongly, but isn't the inventory-system of Geneforge 3 just like that? Anyway, here's an examplary image describing my idea, since, judging by the lack of responses, my earlier writing was incomprehensible or something. :-F
  13. I were reading through the "Changes in GF4"-thread, and came up with a, in my opinion, at least, pretty neat idea. I didn't wish to derail that topic anymore, however, and decided to create a new one. Acceptable, I hope. :-/ So, ahem, people were talking about the NPCs that can join your party, but will act on their own, instead of being controlled by the player. This idea of mine does not apply to this kind of allies only, but to normal creations and such as well, which means that no, I have not come up with a way of fixing the AI (Just looking at code and scripts and such almost brings tears to my eyes, so I perhaps am not the correct person to even try and do so. :-F). No, I have come up with a rather unoriginal and surely before-mentioned way of buffing your creations and allies up. Since the allies usually can not be controlled in battle like creations, they tend to attempt foolish things, like attacking a spawner and a bunch of clawbugs all by themselves. And then they just die. But here's an idea; Mr. Vogel could implement a system like in, for example, Heroes of Might and Magic, in the Wake of Gods (the unofficial expansion to the HoMM series), where the heroes can equip their troops with artifacts and other useful (or unuseful) objects. In Geneforge, this could be done the almost exact same way, by giving all of the creations/allies inventory-windows of their own, with restricions, depending on the creature. Say, a Fyora could (in theory, at least), wear a ring or a necklace, to add to it's resistances, while a thad/human ally could also be equipped with armor, weapons, and so on. You get the idea. :-/ So, while the AI controlled creations and allies would still be rather dumb, at least the player could equip them and his own creations properly, so that it would take more that one hit to bring them down. Not being a code-wiz myself, I have no idea whether this would take too much time to implement, and whether it would be worth it, or not. But hey, one has always got to try! ;-)
  14. Nevermind, I decided it could be worth a topic of it's own. :-/
