In g3 you have to burn (or let them get burned - so waste a lot ot time - i think even dikiyoba'd find it to be too much
) a lot of creations and then you get a nice little message, which i found accidentally and i think is only one. -
Well, geneforge 2 is not so linear. And a3 is based on e3, so the linearity stated before geneforge series.Quote:Originally written by Randomizer:

Yes, at g1 it is that, at g3 you have to "do" something else (also somewhat connected with creations) - what about g2?
-
Hey, anyone noticed that in g3 you also get a hidden message at the main menu - as in g1.
Is that also the case with g2?
-
Sorry for the delay, but i had some pc trouble ... again ...
Anyway - THANKS!!
I sorta hoped it was not it, coz i usually increase it (if at all) last, but at least it's the cheapest. Cheers for the raise when the level goes up.
-
I'm sure i overlooked it somewhere, but could anyone please tell me what creation stat do i have to increase in order for it to have more spell points - it is possible, right?
-
Hya, jeff should really make an option that you can shoo children away if they attack you

-
King Starrus is a ... well, not a grown-up at least

Other than that ... hm, i don't remember either.
-
Drow, you're right, but at exile/avernum you weren't supposed to wipe out a city of peaceful folks, as fare as i remember, but at geneforge the cities of different sects can frequently turn hostile towards you when you allign.
But still, maybe a lack of human children would be due to maybe a catastrophe or something that made a lot of people of terestria (i hope i spelled it right) sterile and now the shapers shape humans (it also says somewhere in the introduction to one of the games that you might reshape the world, well, if one'd look further, one could see, that the only living beings are shaper experiments (even rats as mentioned in the intro to the second game)) - that'd even justify the fear and respect everyone has of shapers.
Gee, looking at what i wrote, i hope i didn't make too much philosophy. I'd better get some rest ...

-
Yeah, that is kinda funny, especially considering how pople are afraid of shapers and you, but they still become hostile and attack you.
They are either very brave and make a stand for them selves or they are depressed and have suicidal tendencies ...
-
Well if you look at it from the biological and historical ways - if a million years ago someone killed a human child now we'd not have to worry about overpopulation, so in a way killing a child can be genocide by itself ...Quote:Apparently genocide of every living thing isn't as bad as killing one child.
-
Hey, has anyone noticed a lack of (human) children in the geneforge world?
In avernum there are a lot of children, but i can't remember a single one from geneforge.
OK, i realise it's not such a big deal, but i just noticed.

-
Well, sorry, this topic just is ancient, i see, but i must've overlooked it.
I always favoured the awakened - could never truly feel for the other sects - maybe takers if they weren't so bloody violent towards the awakened.
It was at first difficult in gf3 where the rebels get quite cruel, but still, the summary of the "official" previous endings where shapers mercilessly destroy all and everithing with their own mind made me choose the rebels nonetheless - they still cared for at least those serviles and normal humans that didn't oppose them.
I hope (as it was said that there will be three different endings for gf4) and believe that there will be a (for me) suitable ending in this game.

Well, I don't know if anyone noticed, but there is a secret passage in Gf2 at the pit of the misfits (in the cave with Heust Balde). I know it's a bug, cause the place you go to is empty (although the floor is drawn and all), but are there possibly any other secret places??? Ones that are not bugs??
-
Yeah, I sorta figured it out that I had a hole in my pocket - I was reach, went to Tuldaric and ...
Now I'm poor again.
BTW: Wouldn't it be funny if the game was designed so that it would matter how much cash you have - snobs would look down on you (maybe not even trade), nice people'd give you free food and such, prices'd change when your monetary status'd change, ...

-
Thanks, I just hoped it wasn't 9000 or so (like A1), coz I'm very close.
-
OK!, thanks, I just rather recovered the not so much older zipped saved file to be sure.
Now I ask this - I heard something about four creation type limit ... Is this really so, and do the joined creatures count??
And again, can I make anyone of them intelligent enough to control him, or something (Maybe turning off their AI ...)?????
EDIT: And does anyone know if there's a money cap and how much it is (in G2)?
-
Well, you know what; although I didn't think so before, I got convinced it'd be kinda cool to have fighters need intelligence - after all, if a character wants to improvise a lot in combat, he/she'd have to be a little smart, don't ya think so?!
Well, they shouldn't need so much mana, coz they don't need to be as "smart" as the spellcasters, so their abilities shouldn't cost as much as spells, but still something - I think it'd be more realistic and'd add a little more life into the character.
-
Well thanks - if I ever edit to the point of no return - which will happen eventually I fear, I'll know who to turn to

But, for now, I was only worried if my saved games would become corrupted. But for that, the file itself in the data folder'd have to be changed (also the date), right?? (I hope so, coz it didn't change)

-
Whew!
I tested it a little and everything seems to be working well.
Well, it also should, since I never even loaded the save before changing the scripts back again.
Good thing I always carry my safety helmet while on the internetQuote:Originally written by Slarty:*facepalm*

PS: I still know and admit it was dumm to try it so hastily before thinking it through - IF ANYONE TRIES IT ALSO, I RECOMMEND A THOROUGH THOUGHT BEFORE DOING SO!!!!!!

-
OK, thanks, I see ...
Also I got the idea and tried it right now, "ordering" Shanti to join my party at the very beginning ... She joined me, but then she wasn't there when she was supposed to - although the game ran pretty smoothly and all ...
You're right, I'll just drop it.
Anyway my question originally was supposed to be just if you can somewhat give inteligence to these creatures (disable their AI? - at least it says it's always on ...), I just came up with the second part during the process of writing ...
Thanks
EDIT: Do you think it will screw up my previous save files, even though I didn't open them while the script was edited and is now back to it's former self??? I sure hope not - or I will learn it the hard way that too much editing can hurt ...
-
OK, now that the editing part's solved (thanks), what about this again:
Is it a possibility? At all?Quote:Originally written by Anarhiztok:Does anyone know (if there's a topic about that just please redirect me, coz I didn't find it) if there's a possibility to alter something in the scripts folder of G2 so that you could control those pets you meet along the way?
OR (possible spoilers????)
Since the creatures that join you are controlled with the call ?_char_to_party(number) and the numbers are mixed (one character has over 20 I think), is there a way to artificially "join" some other character - for example Shanti or some other strong (or even weak) one?
-
Cool!
Actually the question in the edit was just because I once read something about (regarding Spiderweb's games) backprogramming, reverseprogramming, or something like that, being illegal, and I kinda hoped that script-editing a game is not counted in this cathegory.

Are there any maximum amounts of a certain skill - i found having about 31 or 32 intelligence and the plus sign to raise it further was gone - but i still could raise it when i pressed at the space where the plus was and my S/E raised. Although when i gave myself (by scripting) a lot of points in it, i think the cap was around 50.
Any comments to that?
