  1. I've been using various Doctors as my avatar since before you joined. On topic, I originally created this account because it was #7000. 4471 isn't nearly as awesome.
  2. This account was #7000 before the upgrade.

This account doesn't really have many posts, and it's not special anymore, with the member numbers changing with the board upgrade.
  4. BoA is already a universal binary. Jeff claims he has never noticed problems running the Avernum trilogy using Rosetta, even though many of us have mentioned it, so universal versions of A1-3 are doubtful.

  6. The same is true for my MacBook Pro 2.0 GHz. It's really sad that they run better in emulated Windows than in OS X
  7. I don't think you can return to Annwn, but there aren't any items to go back for either.
  8. I guess I just never tried to go back in either of those dungeons. My decision still appliesto a at least 75% of the game. Also "the fomorian one" is Goagh'Nar, and Aethdoc has a 'd' in it.

That was my major disappointment in Nethergate v1, having to leave behind such great eq because of weight limits and never being able to get it again. What in the world are you talking about? All the dungeons in Nethergate are revisitable, and any items left behind are still there when you come back.

I don't see Bill Gates mailing me for asking how I want AOE4 to be! You have a good point, but Bill Gates has nothing to do with AoE development. That series has always been made by Ensemble Studios and merely produced by Microsoft. This is much like what Chromite Software and Dragonlore did with Spiderweb, and what Spiderweb did with Fantasoft.

This is true for most of the games, but my copy of A4 came on a CD-R with a paper label.

What PGLB was asking was if the demo and the full version will be completely separate, like the original Nethergate and BoE, or if it will be a registrable demo like the other Spiderweb games.
  14. For starters, Nethergate was only 640x480, while BoA has an 800x600 game screen. The character graphics are laid out differently for Nethergate and have only one death graphic. The automap was a separate window like in the Exile games. Spells and experience were different. Nethergate doesn't actually have levels. Nethergate has no quest list. It also is incapable of running fullscreen. There are probably several other differences that I'm neglecting to mention.
  15. i. Wonderful. Will it keep the same spells though? I really hope so. ii. Good iii. Oh well. It's more fun to start over anyway. iv. Sweet. Will they be completely new or just copies of A3's Xian items? v. Makes the whole thing worthwhile. vi. Very, very good. There are usually a few things that disappoint me in an announcement like this, but I have nothing but praise for everything you said. I can't wait to play it!
  16. I downloaded the file, put it in the correct directory, loaded a save from before I went to that location, and the same thing happened.
  17. Well, I would check the PPC version, but it runs far too slowly for me to even attempt to use.
  18. That makes no sense. They use the same graphics file.
  19. At first I thought it was the installation, but I deleted, redownloaded, and reinstalled, and it still happens. In the Eastern Gallery, in the farmer's cellar northwest of Cotra, there is a chitrach that appears as static on the screen and makes the game abort when it is killed. I'm using a MacBook Pro, 2.0 GHX Intel Core Duo running OS X 10.4.8 Intel.
  20. I regularly sweep for malware on a weekly basis using 3 different programs, so I doubt this is the problem. On a more interesting note, it works on my Vista partition, so it's not a hardware problem.
  21. As far as I know, that portal doesn't go anywhere.
