There are specific development restrictions that make it difficult to do this. On why it isn't happening for another game developer on his website.
  2. Averforgegate the unholy blending of what has gone before.
  3. I've had it as an irreproducible problem, but it's also occurred in other Avernum games. Just save often and in multiple slots so you don't lose your progress.

  5. The only way into the storehouse is through the dead ogre and there isn't that much in there. The Help for Silvar quest also requires you to talk to the Silvar Mayor to get your final reward.

  7. I could see bringing in someone new if you don't trust the people that are working for you. Of course this paints a big target on the player's characters and makes it so you can't trust anyone. I liked his earlier comment in an interview that you get the nifty toys.
  8. The plot stirs. It'll be interesting to see if we can open doors ahead of time to go where we shouldn't.
  9. There's nothing wrong with the weather. I just wish the guy across the street would stop building that ark. He says it'll be done before the monsoon hits in a few months. But all those animals in his backyard are starting to stink.

  11. There's a whole topic discussing the "problem." It really requires more testing than it's worth.
  12. Yes and some players do use them as cannon fodder. Geneforge 1 allowed you to send them in to detonate mines.
  13. All classes just have one graphic for each class.

  15. You aren't familiar with the concept of server crashes. Lots of people have lost data that was supposedly safe when it happens and backups only have part of the lost data. Microsoft had it only this year.
  16. We don't know what the party size will be other than showing two characters on the screen. After all these are previews.
  17. Have lots of armor and health. You can usually deactivate one mine, but I've never been fast enough to do both.

It does have the advantage of getting the game up near the top of the alphabetical list. Get the customers before they browse into the B's.
  19. Jeff mentioned holding off on releasing the game name until it cleared legal hurdles.
  20. Looks interesting, but then the ads always sound better.
  21. I still have my slide rule from high school. You kids are spoiled not having to use DOS 1.0 on 180 kB floppy disks and having to swap them out every few minutes. Or the older cassette tape drives or even more fragile paper tape drives where a single typo meant retyping the whole program over again.
  22. Eschalon: Book 2 is now out for Mac and Linux systems.
  23. The hidden entrance to Farrar's Keep is from a room in the inn. Melanchion is for much later in the game. There will be another way to get there.
  24. You haven't finished Gladwell's quest at Erika's Tower. There is a gate on the lower level at the Tower's core that won't open without getting the quest from him first. Once you have the quest you need to return to the Tower and remove the current inhabitant, the Tower Lich. Then you get the reward.
  25. Nothing is likely to happen for a while. In a version that I read, they made a typo in constructing the genome sequence and spent 3 months locating it to make a viable construct. So they aren't that close to doing more than duplicating nature.
