  1. The first Geneforge was split between lore heavy in what a Shaper was and did and lore light in finding out what happened specifically on Sucia Island. This made sense as the PC was a young Shaper getting training and information was gathered piecemeal as you explored a Barred area. Information was gotten as you talked and read fragments with only a few places where you could get extensive knowledge. That didn't include language problems with the Sholai or destruction of books when the island was closed.
  2. Only for the same character. The game uses the highest total on a character. So if you have a PC that doesn't get a lock picking ability you might want to swap the charm for solo missions.
  3. May update is out with the game map being 8 of 80 zones completed. Mention of a new monster and showing some artwork in this update.
  4. It depends upon game difficulty level and your playing style. I tend to play on torment and later in the game where your damage won't kill monsters in a round, I prefer defense to avoid damage.
  5. Jeff tweaked the resources since I wrote it down. I see there were other changes in a fort. *sigh*
  6. I don't remember too much trouble getting around there except some parts needed levers or the plant pot in different places far from where they opened doors. Just wander around the whole level killing them all and explore at your leisure.
  7. The version information and support link are here. Steam has a problem with updating versions for smaller companies like Spiderweb Software. But they should have done it after this many years.
  8. Did you update your operating system between playing the games? Are you using the latest version of Geneforge 3? Please list your operating system and if you bought the games from another site than Spiderweb Software. Some third party vendors add their own software as a wrapper between you and the game. Welcome to Spiderweb Software. Please leave your sanity at the door. It may be too late since you've been playing the games.
  9. Parry is always worth it because you get to avoid damage. By the middle game you are facing swarms of monsters. Jeff has reduced the effectiveness of parry and evasion in some games because it was too good of an exploit to avoid damage. In the Original Nethergate it was possible to make yourself invulnerable to taking damage.
  10. To get Parry: 6 Dexterity + 6 Defense = Parry Trainer for Parry: Fort Remote Sergeant Kaye
  11. You just need to free the Ukatish Prisoners from the Ahriel prison. Welcome to Spiderweb Software. Please leave your sanity at the door. Hopefully it won't infect the fluffy turtles that eat it.
  12. You might want to download demoes of the games from here to see how much you like them and more importantly see if they will run on your computer. The reason for remakes is older games don't work on some newer computers or players hate the older interface. I agree that Nethergate is a fun choice and is a good transition to the other games.
  13. I'm pretty sure that Xylia only dies that way. No mention in the List.
  14. Yeah, that's a weird place for it to happen, but when the party can't be placed you get sent back to the start place. It can happen even in places where there is enough room. At least you were able to finish off the area later.
  15. You might have missed a place to bless (improve) items and some loot. You can always go back later if you really are low on money.
  16. Oh, Jeff hasn't tweeted any problems. His Twitter feed mentions watching old shows, playing computer games, and going back to his basement to work. I guess he won't take any vacations this summer.
  17. Jeff's busy making the Geneforge remake and has coded the first 3 zones of about 80.
  18. Jeff is busy with the Geneforge 1 remake, so he usually doesn't browse the forums. Whenever he does show up and post it is shocking. Continuity, Jeff doesn't care about continuity. Dragons change sex, continents disappear, different NPCs have the same names, …..
  19. It's not what doesn't happen, but what does happen if you leave the tiles intact. Each tile is a monster source in the boss fight.
  20. If you save before using the Orb each time you can just move around to see the map section before you crash and die. That makes one fight at the Camp's south entrance. I don't remember there being anything to the east but mountains.
  21. Third Empire Army outpost can be explored a little bit more using the Orb to approach from the south over the mountains. You still get attacked, but it is a different group of soldiers. I think it's just there for some loot and experience, but not to explore. Blackcrag Fortress has a really limited amount that you can see. Most of the place is off limits because not everyone supports the Empress negotiating with Avernum.
  22. Android ports are hard to do because there are so many different screen sizes. In order to make the game viewable it requires creating different sized sprites for almost every screen size. It created disappointment for Android users who found out that the game wouldn't be playable on their device or that they would be the first one that would have to find out if it would work after they bought it. Just haul a laptop around with you as you walk balancing it with one hand and using the other for the keys and touchpad.
  23. You might want to keep your old computer for when you want to play older games that don't run with the new operating system without using a Windows version that runs 32 bit games or some other work around with virtual machines. I have the same problem with web sites not running on older operating system browsers. Then I upgraded my newest computer and it randomly overheats requiring hours of leaving it off to make the fan shut off.
  24. Eudor is in the southwest corner of the Beraza Pits.
  25. You can recruit after rebuilding the Ahriel fort a character with a cultural ability to do Charm.
