  1. I think Trump is hoping he can bump up his lawsuits to the Supreme Court and have them declare him victor by disqualifying enough votes. Although most of the voter fraud has been on the Republican side with his campaign groups altering Democratic voter registrations and destroying the US Postal Services ability to deliver mail.

  2. The Sliths are from a different group of lower caves and you get some history in Gnass and Bahssikaiva. They are exiled, but Jeff never went into the details. Keladon did a series of Blades of Avernum scenarios looking into their lore.

Grah-Hoth is in the Avernum caves from before the Empire's First Expedition. Since these caves are above the Vahnatai Lands, they don't interact as much with his demonic horde. There were some demons that you encounter in Avernum 2 on there level in the remote regions. Another case of Jeff not going into details.

The mystery of the Vahnatai on the surface isn't dealt with in the lore. You explore their area and meet some that are looking there, but why they were there isn't covered. They were in a cave so maybe they didn't suffer from disorientation or became acclimated to it.

  3. Mage spells are dependent on your to hit chance penalty. So Sword Mage trait and items that increase your to hit chance are what is needed and not strength. Later in the game you can find armor that doesn't have to hit penalties like Runed Plate. So at the start watch that you don't wear too many armor pieces with penalties.

Tool skill just takes time to build up because you can't split it 4 ways or dedicate one character to getting it. The trainer doesn't exist in A3 and items aren't for a while.

It's better to specialize in either magic or battle skills and not both because you start out in the game not hitting as well with battle skills and you do more damage specializing. Having both mage and priest spells is useful because mage use less spell energy to do damage than priest, but there are plenty of useful priest spells for buffing and other things. It's not possible to reach all spells in both mage and priest so at some point you have to decide what you want to do.

    Good Luck.

  4. October update

The game testing is half over and Jeff plans to finish the world in another month. Plus he's formalized the Pacifist Challenge into a medal achievement. Go through the game without doing a single hostile attack and the game keeps track of that. Plus Jeff is defining what is considered hostile.

Just as Jeff mentions secrets being revealed, he's added some new ones. :)

The thing that I hated the most was having to slowly haul my piles of loot from one island to another...

My first play through, I hauled the loot to a new island and before I could empty out my inventory, I'm attacked and can't do anything until I've emptied it out.

I hated sorting through the loot pile to find what I wanted each time I was moving to craft at an anvil or just what I might want while exploring.

  6. This is why you have lots of different game saves.

Sometimes if you move around you can get the wolf to move. I'm not sure if there was a cheat code for that game.

If there was then use Shift-d to bring up the code box and enter backtostart <Return key>. This can cause other problems.

  7. 1. There isn't a point of no return. You get different quests and some things can only happen if you go there.

Do go to Fort Remote first since that can change once you do another quest that you might not think was significant.

    2. There are different types of caps. After level 30 the assignable stats and skill points are only given every 5 levels. You will likely end the game in the middle 30s unless you want to grind gather ingredients for wisdom crystals or fight monsters for a few points.

    3. This game allows you to pick the order to do the 3 main quests and afterwards you can still explore and do some minor quests. Some quests have 3 factions wanting the same thing so you do have to pick which one you want to help for ideology or greed.

  8. In the oldest Spiderweb games, resistances were shown as additive. In original Nethergate for example it was possible to stack so you couldn't get hit.

Starting with Avernum 4 this was explicitly changed to multiplicative calculation for resistance. Also resistances got capped so you couldn't avoid any damage since some items gave total immunity to a damage type.
