I found that his worshipers *were* hostile. Of course, I did get him mad by raiding his trove. Does that make a difference?

What are the exact details on how much armor a mage can wear and still cast spells? I've never had a problem with it, I'm just wondering what the most efficient way to have maximal armor-wearing and spellcasting ability is. Is it all down to selecting 'natural mage'? Thanks!

Thanks guys. I forgot about needing the skill supplement from spellcraft! I was just thinking skill level in the spell itself. I'll get to it in my second playthrough.

I never could dispel the barrier under the locked building in Grindstone. My dispel was up as high as it would get for the entire game; does this mean I missed a dispel barrier skill somewhere? Or, is that barrier supposed to be unremovable? Thanks!

*sigh* I thought maybe Levitt would go through on his thinly-veiled threat and try and have you killed, or something.

I just finished my first playthrough, but I never talked to Starrus about Levitt when I had the opportunity. Those of you who know what I am talking about, does anything happen when you do? Thanks!

I've been through the hideout and killed all the bandits, but can't seem to get the quest to complete when I talk to Mayor Regan. Did I miss something that I was supposed to do in there?

Right, so I beat the game once and now I am going to go back on a harder difficulty. In the first run, my characters ended up as levels 33, 32, 31 and 34 and what I am wondering now is what is the most efficient mix of traits to put on a character. I imagine having no traits doesn't help you much, as that XP that you will not be denied will only mean you will hit the level wall earlier, and with no nifty traits. So, what I want to determine is what XP penalty a character can bear and still acheive the average maximum level for beating the game.

What I found about the AI that made the whole game much less tedious, and perhaps more interesting, is that you can do much like you do in MMORPGs and hate manage. Critters will usually attack either what's right in front of them, or the poor S.O.B. who last hit them. You can even get some monsters to bounce back and forth between two ranged attackers so that they never get to use their full attack, in the meantime having a melee harangue them as they bounce. Of course, ranged enemies are a different story, but I still found this tactic useful.

So, I chose to beat the ever-living hell out of Rentar, because her fortresses wore down my patience. That being said, do the other dialogue choices actually lead to different endings in which I don't shatter that annoying witch?

Listen, all I have heard is negativity about this game on here--but it isn't a bad game at all. I certainly lament the loss of puzzles, but I don't agree that the plot has degraded from the other games. I enjoyed the story, just like I have enjoyed the stories from all the other mainline Avernum games. I liked most of the skill revisions which occurred and the most of the combat. What really irked me at times were some of the boss fights, namely Dorikas.

Yeah, so I have wiped out everything in Khoth's Lair, flexing my party's scholarly muscles in understanding the dragon script. After reading Khoth's translation tome, I thought the encounter text said I just had to go back to what's-her-head back in Fort Monastery and I would be done. But, lo and behold I got back and she told me to translate the scrolls, because the suspense was killing her already; but how do I do that?

Right, well I may be stupid, but I can't seem to find a way into the Spire Fort. I've missed something really obvious haven't I?
