Now, what would Barzhal's shade look like? Or having some rebel bind said shade to him or her to gain power?

    Dikiyoba.

  2. I believe they were attempting to weed out the smart serviles at the time because the increased canister use and power-hungry philosophy caused a shift to obedient creations and not independent ones.

Dikiyoba thinks the Awakened in G2 are a lot more powerful than the Awakened in G1. And they get a better ending in G2, too.

    Edit: Sig change.

  3. Sliths are like dinosaurs. They're reptiles, except that they aren't quite reptiles. They're a little too advanced to be plain, ordinary reptiles. Thus, they can have an upright structure, a four-chambered heart, and great intelligence while still being reptiles.

There's no proof the nephil have nipples either, but the fur makes it pretty hard to tell.

Dikiyoba wonders why this conversation has to occur in the Geneforge section. It's a great discussion, but slightly misplaced.

Well, that doesn't necessarily mean anything. A few mammals are hatched from eggs. But does anyone remember a female slith having breasts (i.e. mammary glands -> mammal)? I can't, but that might just be because I wasn't paying attention.
Sliths are indeed reptiles, since they are described as "lizard men" in the Za-Khazi Run.

As for female sliths, the only thing noticeably sets them apart is the fact that one slith character graphic in BoA wears pink and another one wears a purple "shirt." Even those aren't definitive.

Dikiyoba wonders how much it would take to manually replace a shaper/guardian/agent graphic with a drakon graphic, just to make I_am_a_Minotaur happy and be able to move on?

  5. So I used first person. I always use first person if there is more than one paragraph in my post, if I'm trying to say something serious, or I can't think of anything else to add.

Dikiyoba's final paragraph is where Dikiyoba speaks in third-person. And it's more than third-person, since Dikiyoba never refers to Dikiyoba's self in any form other than "Dikiyoba." If Dikiyoba can't think of anything witty to say, Dikiyoba just signs Dikiyoba's name.

But no, you will play a mammalian humanoid. I'm not sure I have the guts to design a game where you play something else. I think it would be a tough road to convince a lot of gamers that they want their avatar to be something different.

    Wait...slithzerikai are mammals?

Dikiyoba doesn't particularily like drakons. Or even drayks. Fyoras and cyoras are fine though.

I like the idea of spiders. They might be one of the stronger battle creations, but not as strong as rotgroths (did i spell that right?). they would be really cool, and im surprised they didn't put that as a creation before, seeing as its by SPIDERweb software.
I can see it now: Arachnid Shaping. And, yes, I have put too much thought into it.

First, pull the clawbugs out of battle shaping and replace them with something like golems. Rename clawbugs giant scorpions.

Arachnid shaping should be expensive to level, but the essence cost should be reasonably low.

    Tier 1:

Level 1: Giant mites-Small, hard to hit, weak melee attack. Very small change of diseasing enemy during melee attack.

Level 3: Giant ticks-Larger, better melee attack, fairly good chance to disease enemy during melee attack, easier to hit.

    Tier 2:

Level 1: Giant scorpions-Bonus AP, strong melee attack.

Level 3: Venemous scorpions-Bonus AP, strong poisonous melee attack.

    Tier 3:

Level 1: Giant spiders-Throws webs, strong melee attack. Occasionally tells you how cute you are.

Level 3: Giant tarantulas-Throws webs, strong acid melee attack. Ocasionally tells you how cute you are.

    Tier 4:

Level 1: Giant vinegaroons-Bonus AP, spits acid, strong venemous melee attack, occasionally tells you how powerful you are.

Level 3: Stunning vinegaroons-Bonus AP, distance stun attack, stun melee attack, occasionally tells you how powerful you are.

    Dikiyoba.

  8. What exactly is the problem with the first part of the editor? (The one in abandoned vale, correct?) The more details you give, the easier it is to solve the problem.

Dikiyoba would guess that the person who created Croikle's G1 editor is Croikle.

  9. Keep anything obviously rare and unusual, like purified essence, because they are probably ingredients for powerful items. You may sell gemstones and emeralds or keep them until a quest that doesn't provide experience. Keep shaper equipment. Research notes may or may not be useful, depending on the path one takes. In short, just keep anything that looks like it may be valuable, at least the first time through.

    Dikiyoba.

    Edit: Fixed typo.

  10. I thought the question sounded familiar.

The only point in continuing to play is to finish any side quests or find any final loot. It's not really important, because a meticulous person will have done so already. Just the fact that it is possible is empowering for some people though. Sometimes my party wanders for days in Avernum 2 because they don't want to start all over at the beginning again.

Dikiyoba notices that Kelandon is living up to his custom title today...

  11. Read the Code of Conduct and use your common sense, DanandJulie1994, and you'll do fine here. Be patient too; it will take several hours and least and a day or two at most to get an answer once the question has been determined.

Thanks for the info. Dikiyoba briefly tested it and it appeared that quiting and reloading the game worked.
  13. An occasional double post can be lived with, but a triple post is rather ridiculous. Just edit the old post by adding what you want to say in a new paragraph. The time difference between post 2 and 3 probably justifies separation but there is no reason for 1 and 2 to be separate.

I don't think stone crescents are worth anything, probably to keep people from accidentally selling them. And because it's just a pretty rock, after all.

Dikiyoba's favorite cheat code is igotarock. Why? Because it's there.

    Edit: Spelling.
