  1. Talk to someone in Formello. Exactly who should be in Schrodinger's walkthrough. Dikiyoba.
  2. [sARCASM]Of course tools are useful! They are as useful in opening locked doors as lanterns are of lighting up dark places![/sARCASM] Dikiyoba thinks many items are just there because it would be very boring and empty without them.
  3. You eat the food for a minor health gain. Dikiyoba.
  4. Dikiyoba would have liked to see all the old portrait graphics, even if they shared the same in-game graphics. The lack of in-game graphics is understandable. The lack of portraits is a little less so.
  5. I suppose that if you really play to get magical levels as high as possible, just save the original skill points, raise them immediately afterwards, and buy the spells as soon as the money is available. Dikiyoba. Edit: Consistency makes things easier to understand...
  6. Yay! Dikiyoba. Edit: Sorry. Ignore this post for the purposes of this discussion.
  7. I prefer the regular vlish as well, since anything that keeps the enemy where it is instead of making me chase it down is good for my melee guardian. Dikiyoba just didn't feel like putting the above paragraph in third person tonight.
  8. Putting too much stuff on the ground in one spot does odd stuff. Apparently, the items take up so much time and memory for the game to show that the characters disappear. Dikiyoba hits that barrier before Dikiyoba hits the item barrier. Dikiyoba's party should really use chests and barrels more often. Or seek treatment for their obsessive-compulsive disorder.
  9. Dikiyoba likes Chosimba's style...
  10. I missed him too, the first time through. Just make sure you really have seen everything and everyone in the mine. Un/fortunately he never moves around. Dikiyoba.
  11. The item descriptions are usually great in Spiderweb Software games. Dikiyoba.
  12. Ironically enough, I found that Easter Egg on Easter Day. Dikiyoba.
  13. He/she wants to remove his/her last posts and reset the post count to zero. Neither of them will happen, Super ideal idea. Dikiyoba.
  14. Personally, I find casting repel spirit on undead more satisfactory than bolt of fire or acid spray, regardless of efficency. I mean, I'm casting bolt of fire and spray acid on nephilim, on goblins, on bats, on rats, and on giant lizards (Clearly, I'm not too far into the demo). I want to use repel spirit on the undead. Dikiyoba.
  15. No. And Dikiyoba's response holds for the question in the other topic too.
  16. Actually, if you only have the demo, the little window that pops up to encourage you to register gets annoying fast. Does anyone know how to get rid of it (besides registering)? It was useful...the first ten times I saw it. Now it's merely annoying. Whatever else happens, Dikiyoba hopes that this "encouragement" does not appear in any future Spiderweb games.
  17. I wonder how feasible it would be to have one character be nothing but a thief and a pack mule. I imagine that character would end up with more nature lore, arcane lore, and first aid than the others, solely because other skills wouldn't be so pressing. The only problem is that the character would be a liability in combat. Good thing he or she will just lose consciousness. Dikiyoba.
  18. Avernum games would probably be impossible, since so many requests require someone to die. One of the major quest in A1 is to kill Emperor Hawthorne and a major quest in A2 is to kill Garzhad, after all. Geneforge games have a slightly better chance, since leadership enables you to talk your way out of things. Dikiyoba.
  19. Well, there were always a few places here and there in A2, BoA, and (I'm assuming) A1 and A3 where it was completely dark. Dikiyoba.
  20. The demo can be downloaded. It's just the CD is required when it is registered. Dikiyoba.
  21. Sorry, there isn't (at least not to my understanding). You'll have to mess with your monitor's brightness to make the screen lighter. Dikiyoba.
  22. That's true. They run around picking up trash, plates, and other worthless objects just so they can dump them in one central location. But not nearly so obsessive-compulsive as my shapers, guardians, and agents. They arrange the worthless items so that there are ten of the same item in each pile and nineteen piles in a cleared section. At least my party in Avernum dumps all the worthless items outside where they are lost forever. This is why it takes Dikiyoba two to four months to play through any game.
  23. Did it appear while trying to post? I think I got something similar once, but I can't be sure. Dikiyoba.
  24. I think that hitting the spacebar will end a character's turn early. Dikiyoba.
  25. Dikiyoba suspects te wolf would be more useful if the meat Dikiyoba's party uses to feed the wolf didn't come from the goblin fort. But Dikiyoba's party is quite happy to feed the wolf and let it live, since it isn't likely to attack anyone.
