  1. It doesn't take ten minutes of extra time! Just kill everything in the zone, run around picking up everything in the zone, and then run back and dump everything into three piles: keep, sell, and trash. Run off to another zone and repeat. Once there are decent piles of goods to keep and sell, just run them back to the nearest town. Sell what needs to be sold and dump the rest by a pylon. Dikiyoba is not obsessive-compulsive. The fact that Dikiyoba's colored T-shirts are hung on matching hangers and arranged in groups according to color means nothing.
  2. I think the biggest inconsistencies of the Exile/Avernum Trilogies have always been the dragons' gender. Linda always seemed crazy to Dikiyoba in A2. She's still obsessed with summoning demons, at least. Edit: Typo.
  3. Also, some items are worthless. You can't sell items like trash or clay pots. Dikiyoba believes the cut off is four coins. Everything four coins or above is sellable. Everything below four coins is worthless and should be dumped.
  4. Probably not. And making it possible is probably way more effort than it is worth. Dikiyoba.
  5. I noticed that too. But so far, it hasn't been much of an issue. It's pretty easy to tell the accounts apart. Dikiyoba.
  6. Perhaps one can get in after finding the runes in the slime pits and having them identified as Erika's symbol. I'm pretty sure I've gotten into Erika's Tower in the demo. Unfortunately, my memory of the demo is very hazy. Dikiyoba.
  7. Originally by Arachnid: Quote: I don't think you should have to come up with backstories for characters, and thus none of mine have one. I'm of the belief that your actions and choices should define who they are. (That is, if you're even interested in a roleplaying expience anyway, which to me, is secondary to gameplay.) That's great. You live in your world and we'll each live in ours. Unfortunately, I haven't played A4 enough to come up with a fascinating backstory for my characters, but there's a few standard things. The first two adventurers are nephil, Korat and Devon Rex. Korat is a nephar and is the best melee fighter though he is also a priest. Devon Rex is mainly a priest. The other two adventurers are sliths. Ali Gator is the youngest. She is a priestess. Her uncle is the rogue-mage Chuck Walla who knows some priest spells. Obviously, my adventurers are using pseudonyms, not their real names. Dikiyoba's party has historically clobbered undead. Dikiyoba is waiting to see how effective they are against undead in A4.
  8. Replace away. It's your game. Do whatever works best for you. Dikiyoba.
  9. One of these days, I really must get around to traveling to Fort Draco. I would actually be able to contribute to these sorts of discussions. Did you notice any other references, Leon? Dikiyoba.
  10. Yes, if all you're going to do is whine. It's just so unfair... Dikiyoba.

Only a new post will bump up a topic, so it's probably wise to just create a new post so that people can see it. And even when that happens, it can take a while for someone who know the answer to respond to the question. Dikiyoba can type in third person with no problem. Speaking in third person is slightly more difficult but Dikiyoba does it anyway. There's really no need to worry. Edit: Added quote.
  13. It's not polite to double-post, rantalot. Just edit your new comment into the old post. Dikiyoba.

  15. A villain's motivation and justification (or lack of it) is very important. I'd rather see an old enemy with appropriate motivation than a new character without any. I also enjoy being introduced to the villian(s) as characters with names and personalities, rather than just existing. This is probably rather difficult to do in a scenario, though. Dikiyoba.
  16. Originally by Slartucker: Quote: Anyway, if you want to edit the HTML, I'll gladly replace it with your corrected version, but A4 items are thankfully not center stage in my life right now. That's right. You have comics to create. Dikiyoba.

This would probably be easier than trying to force peace. That was the Awakened's plan in G2. It tended to work out for them when Dikiyoba played G2, but apparently that's not the ending that was chosen to lead to G3.
  18. Each section can only hold so many items, so don't put too many in one section. Other than that, it's a great strategy. Dikiyoba.
  19. Originally by Arancaytar: Quote: Of course, an explorer's spirit can get you far in real life, but did you think you could somehow slip through the cracks of Jeff's plot design and enter a part of his game he never made? Only in Blades of Avernum. Dikiyoba. Edit: Fixed quote.
  20. Check the Avernum 3 FAQ. It's in the forum header. Dikiyoba.
  21. Dikiyoba

    Why?

The Geneforge games require that too. It must be just the way they are designed. Dikiyoba had a difficult time getting Geneforge and Dikiyoba's laptop to be friends. But they finally found a resolution they could both be happy with. Edit: Sig change.
  22. The fight-end combat bug is where you start and then end combat so that you get past the special encounter and into the room. Dikiyoba hasn't played A3 but remembers the screenshot well. Unfortunately, Dikiyoba has no knowledge of the room in New Cotra. Edit: Sig change.
  23. Dikiyoba guesses that this topic keeps getting dragged to friendly towns.
  24. I think you can e-mail Jeff to explain the situation and get a new registration code. Dikiyoba.
