I have only played Blades of Avernum. Can anyone give me a basic decription of the history and geograpy of the world?

how do I get my custom graphics into the game? I put them in a ResEdit file, a put it in my scenario file, it has the ending cmg. I can get the walls to work, but not the creatures, or terrain.
