Trying to use the editor and screwed
Schrodinger replied to NaCN's topic in Nethergate and Nethergate: Resurrection
Hm, I'm not certain about the problems with the editor- generally, you should try to watch you behavior as best as possible, but other than that, there's not much I can recommend. For the Selkie quest: You'll need to head to the east, and find a room with some torches. You have to set all of the torches on fire, and then the doors will open for you. -
Have you installed Avernum 3? Or did you just download it? I'll assume you've attempted to install it. What version of Windows do you have? It's probably a driver problem, although I don't know how to remedy it. Shut down all non-essential programs and try running it again. Otherwise I'm not sure.

Where is the SKULL!
Schrodinger replied to The Darkest of the Dark Wyrm's topic in Nethergate and Nethergate: Resurrection
Romans or Celts? The skull can be obtained through completing the fomor's quests. In both cases, it can be found through the religious trial, which is to the north, and on the bottom floor. -
In all likelihood, the problem isn't with the graphics file alone, so just sending that sort of file probably won't do anything. Sorry, but you'll probably have to redownload the game, maybe from one of the other servers.

A3, without a doubt. Try exiting the level and reentering. Mirrors should reset.

I have the same problem. Do you have a previously saved game? I don't think that there's any way to restore the dead in this game, unfortunately.

How do I get the spell Doom?
Schrodinger replied to Edward Collins's topic in Nethergate and Nethergate: Resurrection
Please leave nonsense to the Xian skull topic. Thank you. -
Check Zeviz's site at the top of this board.

Yes, thank you. It is much appreciated.

Oh, sweet HTML!
Schrodinger replied to Lord Sylak's topic in Nethergate and Nethergate: Resurrection
Though I feel like a military school principal: People abused it and made senseless posts outside of the one topic for it, thus it was removed. -
Yikes. That may be a driver error, but it shouldn't do that. If you want, you can try Avernum 1. Avernum is Exile with a new interface, and it might be more stable on your machine.

Sigh. If you have nothing to add, please refrain from posting. Someone else once had a similar problem. I'm not sure what they did to fix it, although I believe it was a problem with video card drivers. Try updating them if possible.

Here's why version 1.0 rocked
Schrodinger replied to Alex's topic in Nethergate and Nethergate: Resurrection
Hm, good point, for the cheater in us all. However, I believe Nethergate 1.1 has by far superior graphics- everything isn't as completely whitewashed. -
I have found that having realplayer up on Windows 98 can cause problems. If possible, disable realplayer completely, and just use it when it's needed.

Nethergate 2 ?
Schrodinger replied to GG l'Avernite's topic in Nethergate and Nethergate: Resurrection
A lot was well done with this game, and some stuff needed some work. It's kind of unlikely that there will be a Nethergate 2, merely because the game's ending kind of precludes any sequel. I might be remade, although I'm not sure what to think about that. Oh yes, and if you buy A3, you can get Nethergate for $15, if you purchase both simultaneously! -
Enough. Keep it in the playing with html topic, or I'll disable it. Frankly, I think the craft circle spells are probably the best, mainly because they can keep you alive in the land of the dead.
-
Do you have many other programs running? Or perhaps some problematic ones in the background? Turning them off would probably work best, if you can. Otherwise I'm not too certain. Try turning off some of the special effects in the game and increasing the game's speed.
-
Definitely send #2 to spiderweb. They are still working out the kinks in carbonizing games. Number 1 is probably not a bug. Items do not give visible stat increases in Avernum 3. You may see some of the results of stat increases (higher carrying capacity, increased resistances, better melee or magic damage, higher to hit %, etc.) but you will not see the increase on the character screen. However, the stats have been increases- wearing the crafted chain mail makes your character act faster in combat, dodge better, and perform better in other dex-related actions. It's just not listed. It would be a recommendation to Jeff (but not a bug find) to offer a suggestion that he change this.

This is a common and unfortunate bug. Check your save folder, and you'll find a save file without the .sav extension. Rename it with the .sav extension, and reload. All should be well.

How did you get past the lasers in the first place? I've heard some people have used the fight-end cheat, and have gotten stuck. Others have used the mirrors and likewise been trapped. I think you will need to turn off the lasers by using the switch on the top level to be completely safe.
-
Unlock 3 does make many areas of the game significantly easier. I'm not sure if it's a bug per se, but perhaps. I don't think you can prevent the lasers from being reset. It may be possible to destroy them, though, if you play around with the mirrors.
