Is there a way to hide or minimize Geneforge 2 on the Mac?
Schrodinger replied to cdaveb's topic in Tech Support
On Windows it isn't possible to run minimized, so it's probably the same for Mac. -
improvements for geneforge 3.... your thoughts

This is probably one of those "multiple pieces of currency" things that is left to the player's common sense and/or negligence. In Avernum, gold coins got you 40 coins, silver got you 8 or 20, and copper a few. A few RPGs have actually attempted to worry about the weight of currency, including Castle of the Winds and Realms of Arcania, and in both of those it did increase strategy but also decreased the amount of fun. It's a tradeoff. -
First floor, rather- the intro zone. And give the ball to the little boy, it doesn't hurt.

You need to have 1 witness, if I remember correctly. I believe you need to put your email address on the bottom.

SW Hagfen, first area.

There is a patch for the Mac version, so be sure to pick that up. Otherwise, files can be corrupted during downloading, so try redownloading the game from a different site.
-
Ahonar, lead priest of the Anama, can help you. It will hurt, though.

This has nothing to do with spiderweb games. Please post on another forum if you have questions about Age of Empires.

Geneforge 2 also has the crystal-use does not count as an attack bug, which could be exploited to remove this servile here as well.

download trouble!

Right now just IE. I'm not sure if Mozilla was out back then in summer '00- isn't it a more recent creation? -
download trouble!
Schrodinger replied to The Stinging Munster's topic in Nethergate and Nethergate: Resurrection
I had problems downloading using internet explorer. I eventually had to use Netscape to get it. This was about four years ago, so I don't know if it's still a problem. -
Why not try checking "Schrodinger and Zeviz's Nethergate Site?" All of your answers can be found there. It's been a long time since I played, so this would be a much better source of info than what I can give you.

Do you even need to finish all 3 tests? If you've done some things on your way down, then it's not necessary. You may not even need to finish any if you honored the vahnatai spirits, awoke their elders, or have found a book in one of their forts. Did you do any of these? If so, then you can get by with just doing the other tests.

Hermit Hut
Schrodinger replied to Odile von Rothborne's topic in Nethergate and Nethergate: Resurrection
I believe the hermit is quite close to the celtish goblin fort. The hermit after that one is far to the NW. -
Unlikely- did you get the block to the top of the cliff? Once you hit the first rune, check immediately south and you'll find a secret passage to drop the block back down.
-
Exactly- press fight, then end combat. You'll move ahead a few spaces.
-
Well, the celts can't get too far into Shadowvale fort- there are plenty of instant death nodes there as well. In fact, this was one of those areas where the fight-end cheat hurt, as after I killed all of the romans, I found myself stuck behind an instant death-node with no way out.
-
No, you can't go very far into the village without getting killed. I don't believe there's anything there, though.
-
It's a one-time thing, and I believe the romans can't get the spell from there anyway. It may be celt-only magic. I've never had any luck either.
-
1) You need a captured soul. You can not get one in the demo. 2) You should definitely be able to get the vengeance blade as the celts. Romans, no.
-
Hm, in the avernum series the .sav extension can sometimes just "disappear." Check your saved game folder and see if it's still there, but without any extension. If so, rename it with the .sav extension. Other than that, I'm unsure what you can do.

mine bag help nessasary
Schrodinger replied to cybertron13's topic in Nethergate and Nethergate: Resurrection
I think that's for the Celts. Strangely, my FAQ doesn't say, and it's been a long time since I've played. I think it's on the second floor, though, near the center of the map. -
Agreed. I've had no problems whatsoever.

Generally we don't close topics unless they've gotten out of hand (have become full of flames or spam). "One man armys" is also moving to the end of the list, so it'll effectively close itself. With time it'll go away on it's own. In the future, send a PM to a mod of the board if you want a topic closed.

Romans also get the Dragon lair goblin, and pick up a hostage in Castle Aethdoc, and another goblin in the Spire.
