  1. Heh, Nioca sent me a PM where he very randomly brought up the Craftmaster Strine. So after that I knew for a fact that the Strine was in the list, and so I started dropping the name to everyone who I thought could be a DL. Your reply after my mentioning the Strine pretty much told me you are a DL. But it wasn't until you mentioned your "contact" that we knew your identity for sure As per the guess, I figured it was worth a shot. We were going to send Wz As after you straight away, and if you attacked me (not really likely as you still didn't have a clue of my role) I was hoping that the Shanker's protection combined with the Anama's extensive list of items/weapons would be enough.
  2. Naw. We're pretty much insisting in it because it's too easy at the moment. We certainly don't want to make it harder on others.
  3. Duck: You did do much better. You only died because Rowen got himself killed. Doomie: I hope this doesn't discourage you to continue playing. I think other than being a bit too open, you are a good player and I'd love to see you win. You just keep getting horrible luck. Like being a DL what? 4 times now. Or having Ackrovan tell Sarachim who we were and completely destroy our day 1 alliance. Or the one time that you lost just because you joined the Anama . I'm sure you'll get your chance soon
  4. I also can't believe more people haven't made the Sarachim-Marlenny, Sporefrog-Andraste connection. If Sporefrog says he knows the Dionicio and the Pure Spirit identity. You assume that Andraste is one of those roles. If I say I know the Adventurer and the Dionicio. Assume Sarachim is one of them. This is true 80% of the time. Stop trusting me and Sarachim Another good reason for anonymous accounts
  5. I'm entirely open to it. I had previously decided to stop the huge alliances (100% of the time involving Sarachim), since it makes the game entirely too easy, but I keep falling into them again and again. So I'll be creating a new account. It's at least worth a try. I just ask people to be more active. As per this game itself, It was absolutely awesome and fun. I found out about the traps from Spiddin himself (next time love, don't make it so obvious. Asking someone to explore a place for you, not only reveals to that person and all of their allies that you have planted traps in there, but also that you are the Infiltrator). And I can't believe that's how Excalibur died. One of my major enemies, dead by luck. The takedown of the DLs was amazing, I shall let Sarachim go on about this though. So brilliant One big word of advice to everyone: just because someone is not your enemy does not mean they aren't already allied with someone who is. Don't trust people with your role so quickly, and most importantly never open your mouth about how much defense/offense you have. And lastly but not least, major apologies to Sporefrog for the epic betrayal.
  6. I'll probably die from not reading the rules right, but meh: I'm in. Register Marlenny

Besides, the tree was huge and annoying to put together so we wanted to make sure it'd be there for a few weeks. With that said, I already have all my presents picked out and some of them all wrapped up.

Same as the rest of us. So yeah dude, next time if you sign up please play.

No, we believed him, and Marlenny had started to work on a way to deal with you when she was killed. Just like we kept Sleeping Dragon in the dark about us knowing who she was, we were keeping quite about knowing you weren't the Hunter, unfortunately Vahkos ended that alliance. We had this awesome plan where we were going to send the Adventurer (while being compelled by the Gladwell) pumped up with Physical Immunity and a resistance Exilir (for self defense) while equipping the ring of magery your way That would've been so awesome, damn you Vahkos!
  10. Well yes. But because the wand is overpowered *i makes sure there is only one in the game, while there's the possibility of more than one box of traps per game (Hell, I could've made 5 if I wanted to) plus the Dionicio's once a game box of traps. I suppose that a few simple tweaks could be made (like only letting the CMS craft one box of traps per game, etc) to nerf the traps, so it'd probably come down to personal preferences. Also, SD: it really wasn't Andraste's fault that you got caught lying. I spoke to Duck not long after Sporefrog's comment, and I was always suspicious. For some reason you didn't really inspire trust on me, though I gotta admit the insistence for the killer poison was a clue.
  11. Quick question: how did you guys find out about Elle's role? I thought he did an amazing job at concealing it, and extremely well for his first time playing. I'm guessing (but really hoping that it wasn't) through Xelgion. And where exactly is the: "Kill Gladwell or the holder of the Holy Spirit by day 4" rule?

You did fairly well choosing your protégées too, so kudos. We basically found out because Andraste told Sporefrog of your role. However, I did contact Duck who revealed me his identity with a list of people who was far too good to have been made up (Nephil Activist, Empire Spy, etc) so you were screwed Originally Posted By: Nioca Stuff I agree with the roles bit. The Dionicio's ability for one role was taken away, same with the Spyre, and the knowledge brew is just useless (40 coins for a random role?). But most importantly people have gotten so much better at lying and covering up their roles. Expecting anyone to know all 16 roles or lose seems a bit tough, something like identify 10/16 or even 13/16 seems fair though. As per the how hard it is to defeat the DLs, not quite. The Dionicio has got a fairly good winning rate (from what I can remember), and he is quite tough. His first shot would be to go straight for the Anama. Combine that with an Ironskin balm to sit in his inventory in case he gets attacked, and he is pretty much unstoppable. Also please take in mind when giving advice or coming up with ideas/solutions, everyone and not just Nioca, that this game is run by a human . Some of these ideas are cool, but just add far too much work.

A couple suggestions: 1) Announce publicly at the start of day 2 of the existence of Vahkos. 2) Put a cap on the number of spirits Vahkos may have at a time. Other thoughts? Out of these two, I'd go with option #1. By day 2, a good Vahkos would have kept his role a secret and accumulated a few spirits (2 or 3 sometimes even more) so even if people get together and discover who he is (mostly by identifying all random roles), he could survive a few swings and even collect more spirits. Besides, he'd probably manage to identify people's role while everyone is working together to try and kill him. This would help him strategize on who to kill when. Completely unrelated, but how do you all feel about updating the CMS? For once, 80 coins is quite easily. I'd propose an increase in coins (I like stareye's idea of: come up with coins equaled to the value of items traded) and an update on items that she can craft. Allowing her to craft a few new items, such as the smokey crystal seems fair. As the Strine you really do not want to use any of the shop items for yourself (especially the ones that cost you an ability use), so there is not a risk of making her undefinable to her enemies.
  14. Kind of lame, but at least it was fun for a while. Sporefrog: go read the rules before goddamn killing everybody . I had already won You did great as Vahkos, so in my eyes, this game was yours. Good job. Sleeping Dragon: great job at hiding your role, once the Nephil Activist died I honestly considered joining you and betraying the Gladwell, but I just didn't trust you and knew that you weren't going to trust me at all so I went with rcccl. Wz. As: this is quite possibly the last time I'll contact you in game. We just play the complete opposite. I like alliances, and I like to have people on whom I can trust if not the game just becomes a huge frustrated mess and not at all fun for me. I understand lying is a big part of the game, but I need to have some solid ground, and a limit to the amount of lying as I can do or take . However, merit were is due, no one had a clue of which role you were, so well done. Also, next time I'm going to go with whatever my first instincts tell me. I sooo knew Sleeping Dragon was a DL, and I had Nioca pegged as a Dionicio who had boxed of traps himself. Unfortunately my first instinct for Wz. As was that he was a DL, and that might have not gone as well I think there should be something implemented where if we do not have at least two (if not three) alternates then we should reduce the number of random roles. If after 14 hrs or so everyone is active, then we could implement more. I just really hate it when people get screwed over other people not showing up. This mostly happens to members of a faction, so making sure all 10 roles are active would be a good start. In a perfect world we'd have more people signing up, but we should start looking into other options as of now. Also, is it possible to discuss how everyone feels about the box of traps protecting someone from the Wand of Death? I particularly don't like it, especially given how rare the Wand is. Perhaps we should consider making the box just as rare. I'd like to know how everyone feels about this.
  15. You've always had a chance of surviving when trading Fae. It's just entirely up to her. I passed on killing RCCCL back when I was playing her. I really enjoyed the last Fae, I feel like anything that makes people think before acting is a good incentive. However, this new Fae solves all those weird "What happens when Fae kills someone on day 1?" situations and makes more sense story-wise. So I like it

Best combo play I've seen in a while. Edit: The log will be posted in a few minutes, just taking care of the irrelevant bits.

It was like Murphy's Law as it applied to Northern Isles; every time we made a step forward, something came along that set us back five steps. It's almost funny how badly everything went for us. Gladwell's alliance failed mostly due to Paranoia. Had Wz. As not send Duck to kill Sleeping Dragon and instead killed the Micklebur, he would've won. He could have simply forced the Adventurer to join him. Once this was accomplished, Wz. As was set to go.

  21. This was extremely fun to Moderate (special thanks to Sporefrog for keeping me up to date on what he and the DLs were doing), but so extremely hard at times. I made a handful of mistakes, from reporting Sleeping Dragon's death right away instead of waiting the 24 hours, to forgetting to edit out people's items, to other not so innocent things , but thankfully it wasn't anything that broke the game nor gave someone an advantage over others. My advice to anyone thinking about Moderating is to read and re-read everything several times and try and decide what all the vague things will mean and make a clear post about it. And don't attempt this without talking to Stareye a billion times before hand. Perhaps have a quick game on your own to see what it'd be like. I also think it is in the player's best interest to not have their trades/actions being processed so quickly, but it was certainly interesting to watch
