Isn't that, or shouldn't it be, true of most well run RPGs?

As someone who is neither an engineer nor a physicist, I think you chaps both have good points. On one hand, there are too many factors for any model to be perfectly representative of real life. On the other, a sterile and theoretical system that ignores those things entirely isn't terribly useful, except as an exercise.

 

Either way, you've managed to take a couple of frivolous queries and make them of intellectual interest. There is no reason to build a steel balloon when more suitable materials exist, and while there are real issues associated with obesity and space travel, we are not yet in a position to worry about them. While we're at it, we might as well consider how we could go about siphoning Venus's dense atmosphere off to Mars's nearly nonexistant one in an attempt to tereform them both.

I need to use the irony mark more liberally. I agree entirely, and am amused by the circumstance. I would assert, however, that such circumstances are terribly common in real life. A balanced party would never actually occur, short of an Ocean's Eleven style in-game roundup.

 

Our party is, apparently, composed largely of nerds who, based on the intro, don't have enough experience to know when we might be getting fleeced. Hopefully, if it comes down to it, one of us can have a steep learning curve.

Cairo Jim has 2 in driving. And three pilots with a skill of level 1 is JUST as good as one of three! Or can you not assist another with a check in AIMhack?

 

I wondered if the quiet morning on Spiderweb had something to do with that. All of the top posters up in Alaska getting trashed on skribbane and sniping pedestrians.

I am confident that this community can make intelligent discourse out of practically anything (case in point).

You could probably get a more pun-friendly mod to do it.

I'm tempted to create a forum where we discuss the line between posting games and actual discourse, but I suspect it might not be quite meta enough to avoid closure.

Well, I'm in. You need people of intelligence on this sort of messy... quest... thing.

So many systems, subsystems, and mods... I'd accuse you all of intentional obfuscation, but I know how helpful it is to tweak the system to the campaign. With a simpler base, I would imagine it's almost obligatory.

And the daggers adjacent to some skills correspond to..? Trained/untrained? Obviously not class specific, since there are no classes.

... Wow. That IS quite the deal. Almost makes me wish I lived someplace with Black Friday.

So Perception = Wisdom and neutral is 0 instead of 10? Skills work normally, but with just ranks and not attributes? And, like everything else with AIMhack, there are no classes.

Theatrical or extended?

If I can figure out character creation under the AIMhack system, I'd love to participate.

... How many "What are you..." threads have their been? And why is it that the reading one is so much more successful than the others?

Ditto. Perhaps someone could run a newbie campaign? Get us up to snuff? I'm been cast as a DM for so long, running a PC would be quite novel.
