Let those of us who survived these tumultuous times give thanks that both the Old Gods and the New saw fit to spare us.
-
Will the new system have a way to label an entire thread as spoilers?
-
Since when have I contributed to the pun thread?
-
I noticed that your own line of best fit had a pretty steady downward trend, Sylae, and now that's emerging as an overall pattern. How hard would it be to gather data on total number of posts by all users on a daily basis? I'd be curious to see the trends for the community as a whole.

Over the last six months, I believe Randomizer has posted the most. I suggest, however, that you try not to pay too much attention to quantity. All of us think of it to some extent, but if you let it float to the surface of your mind, the potential for spamming goes up exponentially.

SoT might have been a bit premature on deleting the BBs, but none of us could have known that. Anyway, if waiting a little longer means it gets done right, that sounds like a good deal to me.

Well, between us, we have a quote about endings and a quote about beginnings. If only there was a Wheel of Time quote that talked about both... (/sarcasm)

Mostly, I'm just curious as to what part of the Karaethon Cycle he was thinking of posting. Myself, I thought Moridin's comment from A Memory of Light somewhat apt: “The last days are upon us. In these hours, you will earn your final rewards. If you have grudges, put them behind you. If you have plots, bring them to completion, for this... this is the end.”
-
Would that make you the Dragon, Kel? I was going to try to stick to more academic references, but... "I wish they'd just wipe out humanity and get it over with. It's the waiting I can't stand."

I stayed up until midnight on the eve of the transition, played a Diplomacy game and didn't quite lose... And here it still is in the morning. Originally Posted By: Triumph How marvelously anticlimactic. This is the way the UBB ends. Not with a bang but with a wimper.

Monday will, indeed, be a dark day. But in the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer.

Okay, that's a bust. How about a live one instead? http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=101934 Edit: Changed to the proper link for posterity.

Although the forum wasn't black and white in the first place, I still greatly appreciate the reference. Thanks for a moment of whimsy, Diki. I hope that the color change in YOUR title is only temporary. Tyran's, too.
-
So Triumph has become Harehunter and Harehunter has become Trenton. This is getting ridiculous.
-
Now we know which theme Trenton uses.
-
According to my sources, Diki started it and Tyran is now participating. As for motivation, Tyran said something about there not being custom colors in the new software.

Only if you're an academic snob. Anyway, I seem to remember Spiderweb favors Huxley over Orwell. Originally Posted By: Triumph Are you saying you find this discussion tasteless, Nikki? And so it came to pass the last great pun of the old boards was uttered by Triumph, not Harehunter.

... I should totally do a thread on free will and determinism sometime. Perhaps after the Third Great Transition.

Or just, you know, hot dogs. Edit: Um... why is my name red? Does this mean I've been chosen as a sacrifice?

Are we, as the movies would like us to believe, inherently noble creatures only turned to greed and malice by the trials of this world? Are we self interested sociopaths with only the threat of reprisal holding us in line? Or are we somewhere in between? A blank slate waiting to be turned one way or the other?

I'm thinking that perhaps, when the smoke clears on Monday or Tuesday, it might be a good time to start from scratch with some of our long running threads. I can no longer keep track of the contents of "What have you been reading lately?" or the AIMhack master thread, and I think one of the photo threads has been circulating for years. I would imagine that such bloated topics might be a bit intimidating for new members to dive into.
