  1. Top ten's kind of arbitrary now, though, isn't it?
  2. Ideally, I'd run them on Sunday or Monday, but I could also do any evening from 7-10 mountain time. I tend to be a low-key DM, so I budget about 3 hours of time. That's about my max for consecutive time in front of a computer, unlike Sylae, who I couldn't keep up with even as a PC. Send me a character if you decide to participate. Once I have a VW bus full of characters (or even just three finalized), I'll work on setting up a time. Oh, and congratulations on 6500, Nikki. Not that half thousands really make a dent at this point.
  3. I've been working on several concepts for an online tabletop RPG, and have decided to combine them together into a single campaign. I already have two players, but could use a couple more. I'm working on a system that pulls from D&D and AIMhack and works to do away with classes and levels and make things a bit more flexible and dynamic. I'd also, eventually, like to play with the idea of doing mini-adventures with different DMs, but with a shared setting and the same characters. Finally, I quite like the idea of an RPG set in our own world, but with a twist: the characters are outsiders, and we are not the only fantasy-style entities leaking through. I quite like the idea of a classic, D&D style band of heros wandering the country in an old VW bus, stamping out Minotaurs in Memphis and Dinosaurs in Denver. The premise is below. If it appeals, send me a PM and we'll start to work on a character.
  4. I sort of figured that was intentional. It would be a shame to undermine the enigma of Alorael.
  5. Please report to the implant station, Lillith. Your nostalgia circuit seems to be busted.
  6. The option is on the top right when you start a new topic. I think Sylae even provided a screenshot in "They changed it now it sucks".
  7. I'm tempted to make a poll that investigates whether anyone even gets these in jokes anymore. We may have failed to pass down certain fundamental elements- Imban, implants, fluffy turtles, etc- to the next generation of Spiderwebbers.
  8. I remember making grand total of one post on Desp, then fleeing. I'm not sure anything actually happened; I think I just got overwhelmed. I imagine Trenton might feel that way after a couple of hours in the CalRef chat.
  9. I noticed you climbing the charts in the last few days. Welcome to General, though! Leave your sanity at the door, but hold on to some restraint.
  10. For the time that sw-daily was counting, Trenton, you were #3. I would like to assert, again, that this is not necessarily a good thing. I also read this as "Who's the most attractive member", when it popped back up, even though I'd seen it before.
  11. Did I already try to start a poetry thread? Do we need a poetry thread? Is this, in some Spiderwebbian fashion, already one?
  12. I've been looking at the URL of profiles. Perhaps someone will port that patch that showed it instead of date registered, old UBB style. Or I could just move on.
  13. We will have to start re-figuring where the margins of status lie with regards to member number. Suddenly, I'm in the 3,000s. What about people who suddenly dropped into the triple digits? How will we draw arbitrary lines when our old ones have been scuffed?
  14. For a moment there, I thought T-bone was a new member. And yes, Tyran's right. My observation about Facebook applies only to newbies like myself, not someone of Khoth's eminence.
  15. Besides which, not everyone is classy enough to warrant Facebook friendships with oldbies.
  16. That should have been one of the first things they got rid of. Even before custom titles.
  17. Wow! Not only a mod, but the first new mod in a long time. Many congratulations!
  18. It appears that I thought things were missing because I inadvertently changed the skin to mobile. Please disregard my senile ramblings.
  19. I am fairly sure that no self respecting mod would allow a self awarded title to remain.
  20. I don't see a polling interface. Is that something that went by the wayside, as well, or am I just missing it?
  21. Nikki has the right of it. I know that I was intimidated by long threads when I was new, but perhaps that's not always the case. Glad I asked first.
  22. You could go back to the old system of labeling edit reason, Sylae. I used to abuse that to an almost gimmicky level. I wouldn't mind seeing a few more skins/themes, if that's possible.
  23. Then I would say that certain... rules... regarding things that I'm not mentioning... still apply. Perhaps there should be a grace period while we inform the newer members. Edit: Saunders! Long time no see.

    Test Topic

It's strange to have the proper forums running an interface I associate with a satellite. I don't remember Shadow Vale having the ability to like individual posts, though. I'll have to find the skins before I judge it ugly or not.
  25. Earlier, I mentioned reformulating some of our more bloated threads. It would, I think, make it a bit easier for new members or lurkers to participate in long-running discussion. In addition, it would give us a chance to reformulate the opening post and better set the tone. But if it's worth doing, it's worth doing right. Rather than having a free-for-all, we can use this thread to propose topics that need a reboot, whether they should be split or otherwise modified, and who is most qualified to be the OP. What I had in mind for starters: The political thread The AIMhack metathread The self-picture thread The general picture thread What are you reading lately (with potentially a sci-fi fantasy spin off; even a WoT thread might be an order) Television? Movies? Several of these never got off the ground in the first place. "What game should I play next" will, I'm sure, appear every few weeks without us needing to lift a finger. Thoughts?
