  1. As I have mentioned earlier, I much prefer the concept of discussion judging to numeric scores.

And a way around it is to include the saved game, but have the scenario already started and the PC inside the scenario. Then run the intro dialogue through some dialog boxes, and presto! That way you can give the player special abilities, special items, items with scripts, etc. from the get go. This is actually a really cool idea. And if they start it with any other party, they arrive in a walled room with nothing but an exit from the scenario. :-)
  3. The scenario I'm working on right now takes this concept to pretty extreme lengths.
  4. See Thebes in Falling Stars as an example.
  5. Unfortunately, it's not possible. However, once you're done with the first scenario, you could replicate the scenario file and design the new one over the top of the old one.
  6. Wait, you actually play as a rebel and not just "not a Shaper"? And you aren't even necessarily a human? I heartily approve. Props for messing with the formula. EDIT: I also approve of Khoth's suggestion above me. Fighter: Good combat, okay magic, lousy shaping. Magician: Good magic, okay shaping, lousy combat. Creation Master (seems awkward to call them Shapers when they're fighting against the Shapers): Good Shaping, okay combat, lousy magic. Works for me. Now, if we can have utility (as opposed to combat) creations, my wish list is close to complete.
  7. Isle of Boredom, Ugantan Nightmare, To Live in Fear, Revenge.

Have you ever actually done anything with the editor?
  9. I move we make Bain mod of BoE.
  10. Make her respond to "purc". In other news, holy crap, it's Karamea!
  11. Pretty much. Maybe half of R scenarios deserve that rating. And then there are the occasional PG scenarios that deserve an R rating, but there's not many of those.
  12. Quote: Originally written by Thuryl: Shapers have essence glands, of course. When I read this, I could not help thinking of Dr Strangelove.

  14. Testing, whether alpha or beta, is way fun for me. Planning is way fun. Actually making the thing kinda sucks. In my experience, scenario death happens in the first 25% of design work. So far, if I get past that point, I have always finished the scenario.
  15. Quote: Originally written by Dintiradan: There are some good slith and nephil scenarios, but not a definitive demon one yet. Demon, by Khoth.
  16. I hope this means the scenario is going to be called "My Evil Plan To Save The World".
  17. Drizzt's system allowed all those things and more, FYI. Don't get me wrong, I give full credit to Wonko. It's a cool idea, and I'd love to play a scenario with it. But one cool idea doesn't make you a "Resident Genius".
  18. Quote: Originally written by Desert Pl@h: EDIT: I move that Wonko get's the title "Resident BoE Genius" While it's a good idea for sure, that might be a bit premature. Drizzt, for example, did teleportation (though by a completely different mechanism) ages ago in Shadow Of The Stranger. EDIT: The technique may be of more use in an all-towns scenario, by the way. With the caveat that I don't necessarily know what I'm talking about (as I have demonstrated in embarassing fashion recently), I think stairway nodes can only be called in towns. You could even use it at one point to get into the gremlins' cave/hideout/whatever when the door's locked and barred.
