As "keeping items" is the topic, i wondered if it is safe to keep items piled up at the ground somewhere, or inside a chest or crate - or do they get deleted after some time?

No, i just don't want to lock me out of a possible quest which could provide maybe even more loot

I was wondering if there could be a reason why you can choose if you want to attack the Aranea Queen or not. Right now she didn't have any dialogue options that would have been usefull, but the thought that i might need her later for some quest is bugging me.

Odd. I have been playing his games since Exile II, and i can't remember such books - but maybe i did already give up back then so completely i even erased my memories of them?

At the Bandit Lair NE of Fort Saffron, there is a room with 3 tomes. One of them is unreadable, the text says "maybe you could do something to make the words readable. You aren't sure what". This pins it down exactly, i am not sure what i could do there - any advice?
