  1. Update on the Redemption port for anyone who's interested: I'm very close to finishing the scenario itself - the largest task remaining is to program the consequences for making towns angry (unlike OG & E, where stealing would cause your reputation to fall, consequences will vary by town). I haven't been able to find TGM's full graphics file, so I couldn't add a whole lot of new talking pics in the scenario. I will be using the wolf graphic that Ess-Eschas posted for the werewolf (too bad BoA doesn't allow custom graphics to be more largely sized). Also, I would like to know who drew the Nephilim graphics used in "Mad Ambition" so I know who to give proper credit to for their use (my copy of MA seems to be missing a readme). However, after this, I expect alpha-testing will take some time, so the scenario is probably still a ways off from beta and eventual release.
  2. I have fixed a number of bugs that had been pointed out to be (including one that essentially ends the game early after destroying Varnoth - can't believe it was sitting there for five years - sorry). Anyway, a new edition can be downloaded here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=10ggHmbDffS7a_nja_BmlpB-dt2uykE2L Enjoy!
  3. I just re-played Of Good and Evil myself, and got the bugs fixed (feel kinda embarrassed a bug like that was sitting there for five years) - If I can just find somewhere to upload it, I'll have a new version with the bug fixed available (the size is too large to attach to this post.) And thank you for the graphics! - I will try them out and see how they work aesthetically in the editor.
  4. Well, I downloaded CBoE - I just seem to get a dark screen when I open the game, with no graphics. I thought if I put the windows graphics files in the same folder (i.e. MONST1, MONST2) it would work but it doesn't.
  5. Well, I'll take a look at the code and see what's going on. That should have happened. On another note, the 'Gorgon' graphic.... might work as a werewolf? Thoughts? Also looking for something that might work as a Rokka - very hard though to find something in BoA that would capture what the Rokka are about - the large graphics files of future Alcritas' scenarios could be a big hurdle to possibly adapting future Alcritas' scenarios.
  6. Well, I tried putting all the Windows graphics files in the same folder - doesn't seem to work.
  7. Not sure how you got back to the original towns, I think you were supposed to be greeted by Cmdr. Ralliegh after defeating the Dragon. I'll look into it, but did you use "leave town" through the editor? I think the "teleportation accident" was put into the original BoE scenario to thwart use of the "Word of Recall" spell in BoE, so that was probably left over. But you aren't supposed to be able to get back to the towns after defeating the dragon. Anyway, I've restarted work in earnest now - it's been something at about half-done - and adapting the Murky Mines has been challenging, although I'm almost finished there. With any luck, I could have a beta call ready by December, but no promises - alpha testing is going to take some time, even after the scenario is complete. One other thing - I seem unable to find a graphic I could use as a werewolf (or a tall wolf) - if anyone can point me in the direction of one, would be much appreciated. I'm using a general dark square - In the BoA version, it looks like it will capture the mood of the scene.
  8. I started fairly early on adapting the dream sequences to BoA. I myself thought this might be a hurdle in the adaption, but I'm actually quite pleased with the way it seems to have turned out so far - it obviously won't be exactly the same as BoE, but I think the effects will set a very similar mood. I may have to use certain scripting to give the tiles the same effect, and am still working on that. When porting these scenarios, I essentially think of it as an adaption - I have to make the game playable in a BoA format, and that does require changes from the original version - and if you've played the BoA version of Of Good and Evil, you'll see many new things from the BoE version - if some fans of the BoE version played I wanted to still give them some new things to discover (much like the Avernum Trilogy did with the Exile Trilogy), and wanted to take advantage of some of the scripting abilities to do things that couldn't be done in BoE (for example, Lord Varnoth breathes 3x3 fire, and Daynlae can grow trees on top of you). Of course, film adaptions of these scenarios would be awesome, but given that would be pretty much impossible, porting them to BoA seems like the next best thing to getting to a larger audience.
  9. I have also been working on porting Alcritas' Redemption, the follow-up to Of Good and Evil, over to BoA. Been on hiatus for a few months until I could get Parallels, and hopefully get the 3D editor working there - got a new computer, and working on transferring files over.
  10. Question, is there any version of the 3D editor that works on a Windows platform?
  11. Discovered Exile I in 2000, although Exile III was the first one I registered. I don't remember the server I downloaded it from, it was something that came with the old Macs.
  12. When I downloaded the Windows version, I noticed the graphics seem to be missing. Do I have to download them separately?
  13. So I'm curious - any scenario editor other than the new experimental one that will run on Mac OS X? I've tried some windows and PowerPC emulators, but they don't work on my computer.
  14. I had something along those lines in a scenario I was designing for BoE again (although I essentially gave up as the plot wasn't coming together smoothly and BoE doesn't really seem to work for Mac anymore, possible I could get a working Windows copy if I had Windows) - basically, one plot point involved an Empire city with a Nephilim mayor being attacked and some Empire citizens were claiming that it shows Nephils can't be trusted and so on.
  15. Well, hope you can get through this last fight! The sword *only* disappears once you kill Daynlae, so you can get rid of the other bosses with the sword. Hope you enjoyed, although seems you got frustrated with some of the battles. If you're interested in playing again later, I did compile some detailed hint guides, but figuring things out on your own might be just as much fun. At least you didn't have to fight Chaerephon as well... I have a new version of OG&E coming, as long as I can find somewhere to upload it. Fixes a few bugs, and updates contact information.
  16. I'll give you a free hint to help fight the Faeries: seek out Iezabel and get the spell "Divine Fire". Search for her grotto just outside the Faerie lands, it will appear sometimes. As for the Lich, you might try Natural Shielding again, you appear to be a day past fighting the Faeries.
  17. In order to save Molidax, you have to proceed there immediately after the Faerie fight, if you enter Genmar it's too late.
  18. Well, I'll need to fix the bug at Thasmaskon, so the player doesn't get stuck. As far as the Faerie fight, some suggestions, based on what you have: 1) The Natural Shielding ability does make one invulnerable. Your shielding crystal has two uses, so you can make three out of four of your party temporarily invulnerable. 2) Consider going back in the Slith fort and getting War Blessing at Level 5. Not sure about this, but acid could work as well. 3) Continue using the Magic Dice, some of the abilities are more powerful than what you saw.
  19. Surprised you didn't check the desk in the library room, might find something interesting ;). If you're really stuck on the ROY G BIV puzzle, I might suggest... (spoiler format in case you aren't stuck quite yet).
  20. It’s been really fun watching my BoA adaption being played in real-time! As you probably know, the scenario branches in two halves at this point. It actually felt really suspenseful watching the video and awaiting to see which path you would choose. I actually did not know about the Paladin plot points so that was interesting. I do know Alcritas’s scenarios were influenced by the works of Plato and Greek philosophy, which influenced moral/grey areas throughout. I thought this decision worked really well, as it really challenges the audience to consider a true moral dilemma. Even in other split scenarios, such as A Small Rebellion or Spears, I never quite got the same feeling, as it seemed more like “two sides are at conflict. Pick one to join.” But here I thought some true philosophical questions were raised. And as you’ll see, there are consequences to your decisions. On a side note, the BoE scenario had the tunnels to the Godan fort filled with basilisks. As you saw, I kept a few, but I switched to hydras as I never thought basilisks were the most fun challenge - they basically seem more like an adversary where your chances are based more on luck than skill. As for the Arcanic Hydras - well some creatures can have anomalously high intelligence.
  21. There's *holy water* located somewhere on the first floor of the dungeon (not the magic water from the Old Hut). Thanks for playing!
  22. Any plans for new releases of OBoE?
  23. That has to be a bug. There are 35 days a year, and that is a fixed setting in game (not editable in scenario editor), as far as I know.
  24. I remember Alcritas said this in an article, back in the old BoE days in 2001.
