This happens for me as well, though the actual editor runs fine. Just a red screen and error message until I load up a scenario.

Maybe that's an old screenshot, I remember it being changed in G2 as well.

Pylon locations, A6 cheats, SDF codes, Script Editing
PGLB replied to -=microphage=-'s topic in Second Avernum Trilogy
The cheat code 'healmenow' was renamed 'ouchouchouch'. 'imdrained' restores your magical energy instead of 'rechargeme'. 'backtostart' still works, and so does 'giveasnack'. Two newer (introduced in Avernum 4 or 5) codes are 'leetbuffz', which buffs your entire party, and 'owmybrains', which removes mental effects on all party members. 'clearthisarea' is, again, obviously not in the game. Originally Posted By: Ackrovan I never got around to exploring Grindstone, so I don't know if they have one. I've sent them to Jewels. I should probably mention that these are the Windows versions. I still have the original "Over 1000 Games" CD that I found them on.

Jaaari Monster Creator Or Replacement Please
PGLB replied to Taka's topic in Blades of Avernum Editor
I remember using Jaaari's editors quite a bit at some point. They work if you put them in BoA's data folder, where the editor and graphics are located. -
X has also been my favourite since Exile 1. You know what would be a nice idea for a BoA (or BoE) scenario? "X's Anvil-Tastic Adventurers in the Demonic Plane/Wherever he went"! I suppose the PC would either have to play as a premade X or a group of adventurers who just happen to be sucked into the same place as X through another demonic portal. It would be pretty awesome. Except for the fact that it would have to contain demons. Lots and lots of demons. *shudder*

I still have both of the original Exile games with the old graphics on a CD. If somebody can provide me with a reliable uploading location that doesn't expire after a month or something, I'll put them up for download. The version of Exile I have is V1.0.3, which means it doesn't have the 1 AP system, but it still has the old graphics.

Sorry to bump, but I noticed that on Jewels' copy of the site, many of the walls and cliffs in the BoA section are missing, at least on my computer. This also happened for me with the original site, but I was able to fix that. I can't seem to get them to work with this version of the site, though, but I recently found out that I have all of the missing graphics on my hard drive. If Jewels doesn't actually have these on the site, or if somebody else needs them, I'm willing to share them.

I still lurk around. Never really posted much, but I've always been here. All I've really done in my years here is test and make graphics for BoA scenarios, but I visit the forums every day anyway.

I did a quick search for the "Letter to Rising" in Geneforge's scripts... Code: begindefineitem 314; import = 267; it_name = "Letter to Rising"; it_value = 10; it_extra_description = 31; This means that it is item 314. You could add an item by having it as a reward via a dialogue script. For instance, you could place it into a servile's dialogue script. We could do this with Lietz, a young servile in Medab. The original dialogue is located at the bottom of Medab's dialogue script (z17medabdlg.txt): Code: begintalknode 194; state = 200; nextstate = 201; condition = 1; question = "Where are you from, Lietz?"; text1 = "He says in a quiet voice, _Sucia Island._"; You could change this question to also silently add the letter: Code: begintalknode 194; state = 200; nextstate = 201; condition = 1; question = "Where are you from, Lietz?"; text1 = "He says in a quiet voice, _Sucia Island._"; reward_give(314); Just copy the "reward_give(314);" bit and add it to the end of the question. There is probably a better way of doing it, but that's my solution for now. Hope it helped.

The wait is finally over... for Mac users, anyway. Too bad I'm on Windows. Anyway, start downloading the demo, people! I'm sure the game's going to be great.

It seems to have lead to people finding out I was Dionicio and my death as well though, so I guess I deserved it. It was very fun and interesting despite I died in day 2.

At least I got my revenge on Ash before I died, who again tried to trick me into revealing my role by claiming to be the Anama Hunter. I told you I wouldn't be tricked this time!
-
Looks like this'll make the next game really interesting. I'm definitely playing if possible.
-
Oh, game over just before I attacked Micklebur. Hmm, it looks like I got all the roles right except The Creator (I thought he was Fae), Sarachim (thought he was Oliver), Sporefrog (thought he was the DL Blademaster), and Doom Warrior (thought he was the Empire Spy).

Cool. I'll be getting it as soon as the Windows version comes out. Meanwhile, I'd better stay away from the Geneforge part of the forum. Don't want to spoil the game for myself.

Yeah, Crowley is the guy in the Shaper Camp at the start, but you meet him later at the Shaper Camp in the Fens. I haven't played Loyalist Servile before, so I don't know which camp that dialogue is at.

I suppose that "To row to a different space, click on it" means moving one space, otherwise I don't think it would have "To get off, row next to land and click on the boat", because Geneforge just came up with the map, where you just click on some picture and go there. So I think it's going to be more like previous Avernum games. EDIT: Darn, Randomizer beat me to it, on the same minute!!

Player Storylines
PGLB replied to Preneuring's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
Quote: Er, thats nice and all, but I think theres a 5 or 6 years difference between each Avernum, not 50. Meh. I just did those at random, I will change them. Quote: I don't think you should have to come up with backstories for characters, and thus none of mine have one. I'm of the belief that your actions and choices should define who they are. (That is, if you're even interested in a roleplaying expience anyway, which to me, is secondary to gameplay.) Well, it's your descision. I just like making up stories for the characters when I'm bored. -
Player Storylines
PGLB replied to Preneuring's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
My characters: Eric Magus, the Warrior Priest: Eric, son of Grandol Magus (my favourite mage character player from Avernum 1 - 3 and Blades. I guess he is a bit of an old man (lol) so I didn't have him in this), wants to take on his fathers heroisim. He remembers to when his father (Age 20)got exiled down to Avernum and assasinated Hawthorne, then (Age 70) defeated the Empire with help from the Vahnatai, and (Age 120 (he is classified the oldest man ever alive both on the surface and in Avernum)) then went up to the surface to let Avernites go back up. He wants to be that way, too. Shelly Magus, the Priest: Shelly is the husband of Eric, and joined him when they first met in Warrior's Grove. She has recently dyed her hair brown. Feodoric Griefman, the Mage: Feodoric is a mage who has been through the history of Avernum, or at least he claims it. He says once Avernum was called 'Exile', and that he found the mystical pool of the 'Geneforge'. His team members find a bit coo-coo, but Feodoric is a great friend to them. HrrMrr, the Fighter and Archer: HrrMrr knew Grandol (see Eric), as Grandol was HrrMrr's tutor. Grandol found him in Warrior's Grove, and took him on to a peaceful island to train. HrrMrr talks amazingly clear English, and also know a few basic spells. I'll share a few stories of these guys later EDIT: http://www.psychoholiday.com/uploader/files/59/avernum4.JPG (its a link since the picture is to big)
