  1. Well, as soon as you get the hang of SDFs, you'll want to use them like heck, so it's a good idea to keep track of what SDF you used where, to avoid any confusion, and most of all, double uses of the same flag, which is the cause of many a hard-to find bug.

  2. Okay, what stuff done flags are is a grid of size 10x300. In each cell is an integer value that defaults to zero and can be changed, requested, or otherwise manipulated by certain special nodes.

     

    Stuff Done Flag A and B are the coordinates of this grid, so say:

    Stuff Done Flag A is the vertical coordinate of the stuff done flag you're referring to, and SDF B is the horizontal coordinate.

     

    Therefore, SDF A must be between 0 and 299 while SDF B must be between 0 and 9.

  3. Yeah, I figured something along those lines. I would make perfect sense to catch, say the number of posts in a specific forum so you don't have to count 50,000 posts every time you visit the homepage, but I don't see how doing so for the post counts would make much difference.

    Okay, problem:

     

    The post count system as shown in the footer of the posts is really glitchy. On the message board software I'm making with PHP, it's not all that hard to just query the database and get the currrent post count of that member along with when you get the moniker of all things. Then it just all works like a charm and displays the correct post count every time, wherever you are in the forum.

     

    However they do it with UBB, it doesn't work as good and is definately less efficient.

  5. I had this problem just a little bit ago, and the problem was matter of fact the disk drive itself, as Thuryl said. If other CDs won't work either, you can't blame it on the game. I got a new CD drive, and everything works fine now.

  6. You guys are completely wrong. First you must kill Rentar-Ihrno's pet Spiny Worm and step once in the center of the runes. Then you have to go see the crystal souls and immeditely after buy the boat in New Cotra, buy the boat, by 3 Knowledge Brews from the shop in the center island, get the Major Blessing Spell by sailing into the west side of Ghikra, go to the trainer, max all your characters on archery and throwing weapons skill. Then you have to join the Anama and collect all five artifacts in the course of five days.

     

    Well, I guess the above posts weren't wrong at all. You have to do what they say all beforehand.

     

    Don't forget to collect the Xian Skull along the way, though; only with that can you really safely press the button.

  7. Only experience will help you on the editor. The documentation is good for the very beginning, but you'll need experience to be any good.

     

    But don't worry about getting experience. Go for it.

    With all those help pop-up menus, though, you'd think the game would be pretty self-explanatory. Or it was for me anyway. But in that case I did have the correct documentation when I needed to look some stuff up.
