If Rentar could bring back Garzahd (ah damn! I had to face him again), I'm sure another Vahnatai could bring back Erika. I'm not sure we all want Erika back, but it could be done. - Archmagus Micael

Tried going to all the forges too see if they were left in them. hmmm... I guess I lost it. After all, it was my fault for having lost them. I guess I'll never see the "all protector" ( Don't forget, if there were lots of other items in the own at the same time, even if you put your items in chests, you may have lost some. - Archmagus Micael

Thanks. I'll download the latest version anyway, just in case. - Archmagus Micael 31.287 & 12.670

  6. Guys, I'm really VERY stupid. Somehow, (don't ask how-I don't know) I managed to turn on DEBUG MODE!!! Now obviously I'm VERY annoyed, as I don't seem to be getting much XP, and none of my keyboard shortcuts work, eg. hitting f brings up debug menu etc. PLEASE tell me how to turn the darned thing off. Thanks, - Archmagus Micael
  7. Hmm. Well, most of those things would be nice, and we could always use a new plot twist. But it won't happen (realistically), so... - Archmagus Micael

Oh, and make it so that you have 2 campaigns. and bring Erika back. (like, mabye a Geneforge-aiugmented person could Shape her again?) People have joked about this happening as something to frighten people (like Homeland). This actually happening would spell disaster for Jeff Vogel (form this community at least). - Archmagus Micael

Perhaps another race from far across the seas who have no knowledge of Shaping or magic, but who are technologically superior to the Shapers (pistols, muskets, cannon, etc.) The Rebellion would then be forced to choose between two evils. Yes, but then the Sholai might take advantage of the situation to attack the Shapers, or they might work together, and the war would just get more complicated. Oh well, just gotta wait a lot longer. - Archmagus Micael
  10. Okay, email me a copy and I'll host it, or get someone else to host it for you. That'll save everyone a lot of trouble. archmagusmicael@googlemail.com EDIT: Nevermind. Infernal posted at the same time. Took me too long to type in what I was going to say. - Archmagus Micael
  11. A link to what? - Archmagus Micael
  12. Or you could just make it yourself. Spiderweb has NEVER made any themes for Windows, and I doubt it would start now for Exile, even if it does bring back fond memories. If you want one so badly, make it yourself (it's not very hard), and then post it up here for us all to see (and improve upon if you want). I'm sure you can find someone to help you make icons and cursors if you can't, and for the rest it'll be easy. - Archmagus Micael
  13. I don't think we're going to be able to make up our minds enough to help you on this one. Just choose, and then if you want make it/them avaliable to the community. Then it's up to them to use it/them or not. - Archmagus Micael
  14. There is a monster (can't remember which - an undead) which lowers your character's XP. Perhaps you just came into contact with too many of them. I recall that they can be hell with your XP. - Archmagus Micael
  15. They're all good for different creatures along the way. For example, Ice Spray does more damage to some Vahnatai than Arcane Blow, even though Arcane Blow is immensely powerful, and Acid Spray while useless against most creatures is indispensable against Golems. Maybe there's a way using scripting to create a wand which lets you choose? - Archmagus Micael

But hey, they might grow into a respected member of this community, and start rambling about the turtles. Don't pick on them too harshly. EDIT: Fixed Typo - Archmagus Micael
  17. The characters were refreshing, after Geneforge. There are meant to be people in Avernum - aren't there? I swear I only saw around 250 normal people so far. I always thought that there were more people than that in Avernum. You could see exactly how much health an enemy or ally had. Much more accurate than the Health Bar. It's way too easy now, even on torment. You have no "last-minute-chances" if your health goes beneath 0. You can't die. New graphics! Is everyone in Avernum an identical twin or something? ... And much much more. I have to say though, I still bought the game. - Archmagus Micael
  18. Area effect spells were back! Area affect spells were useful at times, but not as much as I'd hoped. "Huge" seamless world. It made Avernum feel more "real". Well, yes, I've always thought that two major cities should only be half a map sector away from each other. This definitely takes away the "realness". We were finally back in Avernum, and saw how it recovered after the Empire-Avernum War. How did Avernum ever survive the war if this is all they had. The Empire had far worse than a few shades and some sea-monsters.
  19. All games have something you see a lot more of than anything else. In Geneforge, it may be boats. In BoE it's valleys, islands and goblins. In BoA, it's undead. In other games, it's other stuff. - Archmagus Micael

  21. And to learn more about Bahs just play the "unnoficial" guide (Kel's scenario Bahsikava for BoA) To be honest, I never even found Bahs while playing Avernum 1. I was probably concentrating too much on exploring the side-dungeons (apart from the right one) and killing Hawthorne etc. - Archmagus Micael
  22. Athron's Lair, from the annotated maps: Try toning down your security settings if you're on a Win computer. They often block normal sites. (or just say trust site - or try using IE6) - Archmagus Micael
  23. Most boring (and useless) spell has got to be Bind Foe. An absolute waste of time, as any monster strong enough for you to need to bind it can break free in a turn or less. Most boring (and pointless) monster has got to be the Amber Slime. They are so easy to kill, and just mind-bogglingly boring. The Goblins come as close runners up. - Archmagus Micael
