  1. You see those power spirals in the room with the geneforge? Click on them and if you have the control rod then you'll get an option to insert the key into the spiral. After you havedone this with all four, click on the geneforge and you can destroy it without the barrier preventing you.

I try to leave about 10 essence points when I make a creation (I only have 102 right now total) so I have enough to cast spells like heal, cure, and unlock. Essence pods are good, but all you need to do to recoup is to go to a friendly village (Vakkiri, Ellrah's Keep, Pentil, and Kazg will work unless you've made someone mad there) You don't even need to find the pools there, you need only go in and you're replenished. I always return to recover from battle before continuing to another world. If you've cleared all the areas (or at least made them passable) so they're green you can jump to ANY area without having to go in sequencial order. I'm working on the East Docks right now, but I can jump to Vakkiri quite easily since everything inbetween is cleared.

    Hope that helps

It doesn't matter wheter you absorb it or let it die. When you absorb it you immediatley get half the essence back, but the rest of the essence is now freed up, no longer keeping it alive, so simply return to a town, drink an essence pod, or find an essence pool and you'll get the rest back.
  3. You can switch applications on a mac if you pause geneforge or geneforge 2 by pressing escape. Well, at least on Mac OS 9, but it should work on Mac OS 10.

EDIT: To be a bit more specific, when gf or gf2 is paused on mac os 9 the little toolbar at the top of the screen is visible, so you can just go back to Finder and greneforge will automatically hide itself.

  4. Nope. But if your looking for an extra member in your party, there is a friendly rat in that area walking in circles around the fort, and he'll join your team, regardless of leadership or other stuff. He gets kinda useless after a while though and there's like no point keeping him alive.

Stick to the edges and head east. He's staring at a pool of water in the north east corner.
  6. Well, if he's going to be changing the graphics a little, there are some things that didn't really make sense. For example, Drakons use the essence orbs attack for their missle attack. However would it be possible to have the firebolt picture for each attck, rather than the essemce orbs picture? Cause in the drakons description on the making a creation page they said they sprayed bolts of fire or something like that. Also, shouldn't essence orbs look a little more like.....orbs? In GF2 it hardly looks different from the ice spray attack. Other than that, I guess there's nothing else for me to say that hasn't alreadt been saud. For all I know THIS has already been said.

Do you mean VISIBLY glowing? Like the character graphic changes? Or are you referring to when you walk around towns a text box comes up saying how everyone's staring at you and you look at your skin and its glowing.
  8. Too bad they didn't have some sort of secret area like

    SPOILER(sorta)

that temple in spirit city in GF1 you had to touch the stone pillars in a certain order to get in

    END SPOILER

Something like that would have been pretty cool. Although maybe there is something like that in the game but we cant be bothered to find it. Who knows?

  9. Well i did hear a great deal of confusing stuff in a topic about something called a xian living tool, but they seemed to be lying.

Oh and thanks for the advice Seletine.

  10. I'm not sure who's servile that one in the woods is is(im not very far) but you can find braans servile in the crystal cavern. If you dont know where that is its west of the area braans in(forget what its called).

  11. It's Walt Disney, in frozen in suspended animation, so that one day, he will return to continue his reign of terror.

Say, if anyone understands the programming language

Geneforge uses(I know Java, but thats all) then you could see if anything is actually programmed to be behind that door.

Besides giving you a different ending, The Geneforge increases all your base stats by 8, as well as some other stats. I think it differs depending on what class you are. For example, the only time I used the Geneforge was as a Guardian, and it increased my base stats and shaping skills.
