Ah yes, but my point was that at least here there's a tendency to discuss some of the same types of sandwiches. And over time, a community is more likely to emerge, built upon our common sandwich preferences.
  2. Oh thank god. (breathes normally again as the ocd subsides)
  3. I can start whenever. Also, one question because this is a major pet peeve of mine, and something I have tried to avoid for years. At the edges of Warrior's Grove, there are a lot of floor tiles at the edge with frills on them that then repeat out to infinity. Can I please just replace the edge grass tiles with basic no-frills grass, or does each of those still count? It's gonna drive me insane.
  4. Truthfully, I think message boards have been out of date in a mainstream sense for years now, ever since the "shout into the void what was on your sandwich" model of communication apparently won out over the "discuss common ground within a community". Or you can just argue that "common ground" became "inane garbage" and "a community" became "everyone who ever has or will exist". Either way, I still prefer this model, even if I don't come around as much as I used to.
  5. Hm. Not quite accurate enough. Needs more blood. More like this sort of thing:
  6. I like it, a lot. Very nice, and I would support its completion. Maybe add a picture of some sort to the planning page, but not really sure what it would be of.

  8. Alright, I'm in. Let's freakin' do this! I've got too many unfinished pieces on my hard drive. This needs to be remedied, and this is as good a place to start as any. Might I recommend editing the first post with all the official rulings? There seem to have been a lot of them.

  12. So... replacing all the default trees counts as how many changes? (I like looking for excuses to use those trees.)
  13. I... I might want to make something. Do "changes" include graphical tweaks? Like, swap out a wallset, replace all the default trees...
  14. I haven't posted in this thread in a while. A pity. Thinking with portals. A flower. A butterfly.

    Osama is gone.

w00t. I feel like that about sums it up. For once, some closure. Also, I've been gone for a while. I'm back.
  16. Man, I've been out of it for weeks... I barely noticed this. Congrats, huzzah, jubilation, etc!
  17. I would also like to point out that Japan has suffered earthquakes and tsunamis in the past, but ultimately in a country that depends on nuclear power, it took a 9.0 earthquake, a freakin' tsunami, and a shipping error (replacement backup generators) to cause a problem that, as *i said, is nothing like Chernobyl. On the whole, I'd say they've done a good job, and overall it's just a horrible act-of-your-choice-of-deity that nobody could have foreseen. And it saddens me that it will likely set back acceptance of nuclear power in the United States by a decade. The degree to which the troubles at the reactor have been exaggerated is appalling, particularly considering how the disaster that caused it did far more damage and took many more lives. Can't see the horrifying forest for the one slightly crooked tree.
  18. Well, if you want obscure dice... I would second Lilith's point that the overall feel of the system is probably more important than which types of dice you use. AIMhack's central tenet is not that d20s are better than other dice, it's just that in an ideal session, a player should only ever need to know one rolling command. As another example, D&D's d20 madness often becomes a much more detail-oriented pursuit of mechanical perfection, at times resembling a wargame simulation. As a counterpoint, the Savage Worlds system is all about 3 Fs: Fast, Furious, Fun. And then of course, everything hinges on the DM. I've played in fantastically story-driven D&D campaigns, while I've heard many complaints from others that the current iteration is just wargaming. Ultimately, the kind of campaign the DM runs will be what they want to run... so I suppose the idea is that the system and the campaign should not be at odds with one another.

Congrats, Niemand! (conveniently ignores all the math)
  20. The other letters, then: Click to reveal.. (Sir Kurex) I know who you are. I know many individuals who would love to see my guards cut you down. But your abilities are required for this task, and I know that it is in your nature to accept. One of the bandit lords of Sarden, a Rikkla the Cold, possesses an artifact which I would enjoy for my own collection. It is known as the Glacial Knot, and resembles a knot of string wrought from ice. It is an artifact not to be trifled with, and I wish for you to bring it to me. Should you and the others succeed, you shall earn a full payment. I do not short-change those in my employ. But if you desire a true favor from me, then I must ask more of you. The Knot is said to be part of a set, a powerful group of items with a very unique power. I know nothing of the other artifacts, and ask that you search for them, or at least evidence of them. I have reason to believe Rikkla has sought them out, and they may be part of her collection already. They will be well-hidden, but I am confident that your abilities will be sufficient to locate them. Know that should you betray me, you will not leave Selos alive. But I do not forget those who have aided me. - Gotay Zeshas Click to reveal.. (Sir Josun) Your military record in Selaneus has not gone unnoticed, and I require a healer of your stature for a small task. I trust that your abilities are up to the task, and I have already informed your superior officers, and you are to retain your full military salary while on this mission. Your career would benefit from accepting this offer. One of the bandit lords of Sarden, a Rikkla the Cold, possesses an artifact which I would enjoy for my own collection. It is known as the Glacial Knot, and resembles a knot of string wrought from ice. You are to return it to me in Selaneus, where it can be properly appraised and returned to its rightful owner. I have reason to believe it was captured in one of the raids on our fair city decades ago, and would see it reunited with its owner. Should you accomplish this, you will earn your full payment. However, there is another task I would request of you, one which will leave me indebted to you. I have heard tales of Rikkla's hoard, and it is said to contain several artifacts holy to the gods, including an ancient altar of unknown origin. If you can recover any of these artifacts, but particularly a fragment of the altar, your payment will be grandiose. - Gotay Zeshas Click to reveal.. (Sir Adon Zek) It has come to my attention that you are a capable mercenary with an interesting backstory. I have employed many wanderers in my day, and few can rival your alleged credentials. Thus, admittedly with my own amusement in mind, I have accepted your offer and would contract with you. One of the bandit lords of Sarden, a Rikkla the Cold, possesses an artifact which I would enjoy for my own collection. It is known as the Glacial Knot, and resembles a knot of string wrought from ice. Its value to me is purely sentimental, as it was originally stolen from my family. But your goal is to return it to me in Selaneus. Should you and the others succeed, you shall earn your full payment. However, if you are able to guarantee the survival of your fellows, you will be paid a bonus sum, and I shall spread word of your prowess. I prefer those in my employ to survive, as it makes the screening process much simpler. - Gotay Zeshas ...man, it is nice to finally get this stuff out into the light of day.
  21. Ka-BUMP. The concluding scenes and compiled epilogues are now available for your collective perusal. Now that everything's over and the campaign can officially be called concluded, pretty much everything from the campaign is fair game. That includes the party's letters from Gotay, the exact functions of artifacts, tidbits missed from the stronghold... yep, if you can name it and it appeared in this campaign, I probably have a .txt file containing it somewhere.
  22. ...so, anyway. Moving back to the topic. Originally Posted By: Student of Trinity And maybe introduce negative perks (quirks!) as well. Particularly dubious actions might incur quirks. 23. More importantly, we actually finished it. After a 3-month hiatus that would've killed most RPs. Also, the Milkshake thing was the consequence of a character who insisted on being involved in all plot. All of it. Every. Last. Drop.
  24. FYI, we currently have 3 of 5 epilogues submitted and approved. Once those are all in, I can post them, the letters from Gotay, the full artifact list, etc etc etc.
