  1. I think +3 to creations' strength is more useful than +2 to my damage levels.

At the time I can get Emerald Chestguard, I already have high stun resistance.

And my combat tactics consists of "hit them before they can hit you", so armor does not count for much.

I don't think I would use the EC even with a Guardian. Even my Agent had a rooster of creations almost from the beginning (well, from gaining second level, when I upped fire shaping to get that first fyora).

Maybe I would reconsider on Torment, but in the previous games, the only difference between normal and torment I noticed was that I reloaded more often. So it was just annoying instead of more challenging.

  2. Ehm ... did you *read* my post?

I already *wrote* that the only difference between them is base level ...

I am the person responsible for the detailed creation data in the GF2 FAQ and I already have similar file on GF3.

On an alternate note, the differnce in to-hit percentage is because Rodhzidron has about 4 higher level, so it has 2 higher strength, which means 10% higher to-hit chance (and +2 levels of damage).

On an completely alternate note, the manuals *lie* about what strength and dexterity do.

Strength governs to-hit chance and damage of both melee and ranged attacks, even for magically based attacks.

That is already possible. At least in the windows version.
Well, you can change the main character color. Changing them to color-it-yourself pictures isn't.
  4. Doesn't the crystalline shroud give +something to creations strength, unlike the emerald chestguard?

I seem to recollect that *that* was the difference that made me prefer it ...

And I think I got +3 to creations' strength from the guardian's claymore ...

  5. From the datafiles:

Rodhzidron is just a higher-level Rothgoroth.

A 40 level Rodh is exactly the same as a 40 level Roth, except

    1) it costs much more essence and

    2) does not need a lot of experience to get to that point.

I don't have the files handy, but IIRS:

    Roth has base-level 34, Rodh has base-level 40.

To make a Rodh, you need +3 more to battle shaping, which makes your new Roths level 36.

Not a big diference, if you ask me - some 4d12 of damage, when the roth would already be doing around 40d12.

  6. I tried it and Khyrryk does *not* teach Drayks.

    Nobody teaches Drayks and Drakons.

    Khyrryk teaches Rotghoroths.

Possibly Gazers, but I can only attest (as I am far from my computer and I only *really* remeber that he does not teach Drayks or Drakons, and does teach Roths) to what I have already written above.

  7. I have played (won) as a rebel and, AFAIK, they don't teach anything that the loyalist don't.

So, no Ur-drakons (makes sense, they currently need the Geneforge to make Ur-drakons - what sense would having a shaper-capable-of-creating-them running around make? Ugh, bad sentence, *baaad*!)

The rebel philosophy is "canisters, not teachers".

  8. I think there are several types of golems.

Some are more resistant than others.

And, maybe there is difference between constant exposure to small amounts of acid in the air, and sudden forceful hit by a glob of concentrated acidic matter?

That is because our PC is not a fully extensively educated shaper ... it takes years of experience et expensive equipment to create awesome amounts of beneficious beings.
  10. When I try to select a character or conversation topic by pressing a number, nothing happens.

I need to press SHIFT+number to get it work.

Does anyone else have the same problem or is it my configuration?

I *did* try switching capslock. I din't yet try to switch numlock though.

  11. If it is slow because of scripting processing, then it *is* badly programmed.

(Programming includes not only coding but also design ... bad design makes for more problems than bad coding)

I rather doubt that. There are examples of bad design (if I put arbitrary limits like 'max 30 scenarios, if you want more just shuffle them manually' in any of my programs at uni, I would not pass that course until I removed them), but if it works on one computer and slows down on another similar computer ...
