  1. Not counting the Blades games, it's easily one of the Exiles. I've only really played 2, so I can't speak for 1 or 3. The Avernums are more streamlined for faster gameplay.
  2. I listen to video game soundtracks, which I think means that I've come full circle as a nerd. I enjoy music with purpose, which is something video games clearly define. It allows you to ponder what the composer was trying to do without requiring the base level of knowledge that more cerebral stuff like jazz or classical, I think, require.

  4. I heard the latest one is just a lazy rehash of Star Trek 2. I'm not sure why the producers chose to make a movie that way when they were clearly trying to reach out to millions of people who don't know enough about Star Trek to understand those references.
  5. There isn't really a point now that nobody is designing. I think we would need a complete overhaul just to make this game interesting again.
  6. I like the idea of the player being left in the dark. Giving immediate feedback on what the player is doing will shape the way he plays and add constraints on what sounds like a fairly open scenario.
  7. In my own personal goals, I've managed to hit 6 dead-hang pullups, which is a pretty good jump from my max of 0 a few months ago. I hope to hit 10 before the year is over.
  8. I'm flattered that Kill Them Dead actually made an impression on you. If you honestly liked it, I made another two sort of similar scenarios.
  9. Yeah. Just make a script that cycles through all nearby targets until it assigns three as a target. Then have it deal the damage.

  11. I gave up meat for a few years before. I almost exclusively eat fish now (I'll eat other kinds of meat out of politeness to the host). I could probably go strict vegetarian again, but I wouldn't be happy about it.
  12. State 3 and 4 aren't going to run if you don't have anything that activates them. Your creature isn't going to do anything at all. In any creature script, you essentially want something that designates a target and specifies actions to take if a target is found. States simply exist to ease organization, and you can handle everything in a single state if you so choose. A creature will run through whichever state it is set to run until it runs out of AP. If it runs out of AP mid state or is told to stop, it will keep running through to the end of the script before stopping. It will not change to another state unless told to do so. basicnpc cycles between the start state (searching for a target) and state 3 (attacking). If you want your boss to check what it's damaged by every turn, you'll want that code in each state you're using.

  14. I guess it really depends on what works for the game. If the art direction is distracting, then it isn't doing a good job.

  20. I suppose if Jeff started getting a lot more business and there was a large call for it, he might consider it. Maybe a simplified version of what BoA was, if that's even feasible.
