what the luck do?
Arch-Mage Solberg replied to Dark Mage's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
Every point of luck affects your resistances as if helps keep you alive longer if you have more than 10 (I believe it's around 10 ). -
I'm to blame. My cousin uses Cheeseball Rules and he is dumb. I'll have to tell him to read the entire post and the others before adding his own. Again, sorry.

Now I want ya'll to guess who I'm gonna vote for... 5... 4... 3... 2... 1... Ok it's ME, Solberg. I helped the first group with the Adze-Haakai, finding Demonslayer, and with Grah-Hoth. I helped the second group with Garzahd's weaknesses. For the third party, I provided much needed spells as rewards. I've done much more, but these are more widely known.

Would Exile make a SWEET movie?
Arch-Mage Solberg replied to drumstix1000's topic in The Exile Trilogy
Alorael- I am running Solberg, my cousin runs Cheeseball Rules. Sorry for the confusion. I'm not trying to be sneaky. What you're saying would make me a little crazy. -
It Must Be Magic
Arch-Mage Solberg replied to Synergy's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
You will need at least 99% of the body/powder to be able to raise someone. Garzahd was ripped apart by magics and vaporized, and Erika became a pile of dust. Vaporazation doesn't leave dust and Erika's dust was destroyed when Rentar-Ihrno's Fortress gave way. You also can't be resurrected if you died of old age (which means I'm scewed, being 83!). I don't know alot but I do know magic. -
Avernum 1: A little help?
Arch-Mage Solberg replied to the bob's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
It's a give and take relationship! Exile has alot more spells but Avernum has better graphics and gameplay. I'll go ahead and say Avernum. -
A mile is a mile as long as it's set accordingly. Earth's mile could very well be different than Ermanian's mile. There really shouldn't be any confusion. And why are you arguing with me??? I'm Archmage Solberg exactly what planet do you think I live on? Our mile is exactly 5,000 feet long. To put that into laymans terms. Ermanian = Earth 1 foot = .4 foot It would take 13200 Earth feet to equal on Ermanian mile! Our measurements are 2.5 times bigger. But as far as people go, we're roughly the same size, just numbered differently. Ermanian Earth 15 ft 6ft Don't get confused because of what the game says. We used Earth measurements when describing the sizes of animals, not distance...sorry.

Would Exile make a SWEET movie?
Arch-Mage Solberg replied to drumstix1000's topic in The Exile Trilogy
I think that it would make a great movie. It has plot, fighting, and lots of stuff to use (or not use). If it were made into a movie, I'd love to play myself since I'd be perfect for the job. For those of you who don't know, I'm always Solberg when I'm on the forums. -
I just want everyone to know that alot of innocent people died because of one woman's stupidity. I tried to warn everyone, but they wouldn't listen. 'OFF TOPIC' If anyone that is making A4 and is reading this, please don't kill me off. I also want my tower near where Vahkos' tower was. Please, please, pretty please!
-
The only way I can see A5 is if A4 isn't based on the return of the Vahnatai. Having a big plot of 'The Second Empire War' would pretty much just copy A2. Of course with the exception of that they're now on the surface and will no doubt have most of Valorim on their side! I am sure if even that it would still be a great game.

Good luck. I hope that you do well. If not, you know where to go. -
Avernum 1: A little help?
Arch-Mage Solberg replied to the bob's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
The series of wheels is as follows Enter the cave Go through the cave and to the northwest is a cave with a wheel.....turn it Go back down to the guard entrance and enter the eastern one.....in a hidden room along the eastern wall is the wheel.....turn it Go through the cave to the northeast is a cave with lava, beyond the lava is a wheel.....turn it Go back close to the entrance near the guard house in the center of that cave there's wheel.....turn it The way at the north wall is now open, you can escape if you'd like, but if not there's a portal that'll take you back to the very beginning of that dungeon. I hope that this information helps you. Have a great day. -
Near the entrance there's an empty classroom with 2 books at the north end. The eastern one will tell you that there's an Adze-Haakai in the tower. Tell the name to Kelner and he'll tell you that the password to My tower is in a hidden cave to the northeast of the tower. Once that is done, go to My tower and give the password, then come in and converse with me and I'll tell you what to do.

E3: Ruined World -- Room in Sulfras's Cave
Arch-Mage Solberg replied to Pisst the Slith's topic in The Exile Trilogy
On the topic of the dragons-I went there right before goin' inside the fenced area. My parties average level was about 22 (with 29 highest and 16 lowest). The dragons were nothing to me. About the hidden rooms-I always wondered if I could get in there somehow and if anything was in there. Thanks for sharing the knowledge. -
need advice
Arch-Mage Solberg replied to tomster's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
I hated A2. You know how much that tower stunk with Cheeseball doin' his business in the corner. The Vahnatai barriers and the invading Empire didn't help much either. -
Solbergs tower
Arch-Mage Solberg replied to CoolCatBass's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
Ever heard of knocking. Seriously people, you can't just walk around aimlessly hopeing to find some secret word (Disaster) or some Royal Clearance. I'm not a bad guy like Linda says I am. I'll tell you anything that Jeff tells me too. Oh and by the way, don't mess with Cheeseball, he gets cranky. -
A2: Erika is mad at me
Arch-Mage Solberg replied to Lady of Lorelei's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
It's always talk about if Erika is essential, WHAT ABOUT ME!!! Am I not the one who in A1 told about how to kill the Adze-Haakai and the Daemonslayer. The Daemonslayer was essential in killing Grah-Hoth. Also am I not the one who gave the most vital clue to killing Garzahd (ok so Thompson knew the location, who cares). And in A3, I gave the Expedition Party vital spells to help them out. That's all I was allowed to do (Beaurocratic officals and all). I am the greatest Archmage of all time. Oh and about Erika's Tower in A2, reseting seems to be the only way out of that jam. I do it all the time just to get all the enemies back. -
Hintbook: how is it?
Arch-Mage Solberg replied to Overwhelming's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
I love the books, you don't need to use them all the time, just when you're stuck. -
A3: The first party of explorers.
Arch-Mage Solberg replied to Aran's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
There are 3 people I know of from Avernum on the surface; Dwaine in Lorelei, Sandra (eitherin Sharimik or Lorelei), and someone in Porter's Retreat, who weren't in the first group. -
No problem. That's why this forum is here. To help people in need.

I had the same problems with downloads. I just got a new computer with a cablr modem and it just runs so smoooooooth. On a lighter note, Cheeseball where have you been? I've been so worried! I'm glad you're safe and sound.
