  1. Oh no. I think I made a mistake. You should play Three Twenty-Three. That's my Warrior's Grove scenario. You should skip Phew For a Minute, because that's the one which is just Radiohead lyrics. ... This is the problem when literally all of your work can be finished within an hour.
  2. So far this year I've read: Child of God. It was a wonderful holiday read, full of cheer, goodwill, and succinct, biting, and elegant writing. The Princess Saves Herself In This One, which was honestly not that good, and only really worth it if you want to see how not to write poetry. I had to pretend I liked it because it was a gift. And that's sad, because the subject matter was good. It was just tumblr-level poetry. Which is to say, MY level of poetry. We which I've been meaning to read for a while, on Nayld's recommendation, and which was absolutely worth the two hours it took to get through. If I had one complaint, it was that 1984 and Brave New World ruined it for me, but it's brilliant to see the seeds that it planted in Orwell and Huxley, and the breakdown of logic in the face of humanity was probably better handled here than in either of the other two books mentioned. I also started The Intended, but I'm probably not going to finish that because it sucks
  3. Just a quick one - skip Three Twenty Three. It isn't an actual scenario. Also, a couple of my scenarios will trash your party (KH and El Presidente and maybe OoS I can't remember?). Just something to be aware of.
  4. I have come across the term 'hugemassive' before, but only colloquially, and only to mean, well, huge massive - and never in reference to Spiderweb. 'Bob', meanwhile, is something I only associate with the SW/Blades community, and I've never heard of it outside of here.
  5. I'd still play! I sometimes do with older scenarios! And, I'm perpetually plinking away at making new stuff. I'll have a weekend where I'll do a lot, and then weeks where I don't touch it, but there is A Something!
  6. (as an aside, I also have both Windows and Mac versions of Nethergate, should Tyran lose his copies)
  7. Tridash and I ate pizza and explored London this afternoon, which means he's now on the chart.
  8. (Yes, I can confirm it works on 64-bit Windows 10. I had a screenshot when I proved this a while ago. In fact, it may have been Tyran I was showing!)
  9. Now that these are more manageable, I'll tackle some more. I find it stressful when there's too many. 465. Ten Million Pounds of Sludge -- Made the monkey go to heaven ...and there are lots of references I can still see but which I can't match up.
  10. Hmm. 485. The Analysistrata -- Forcing a peaceful resolution through logical retention Lysistrata is, of course, the famous Grecian story of how Lysistrata aims to end the Peloponnesian War by persuading the women of Greece to withhold sex from their husbands. The idea is that by withholding sex, the men will be forced to find a peaceful resolution to the conflict. The PDN/clue also play on anal retention, and therefore psychosexual development, and honestly it's been a long time since Freud and all I really got was anal and retention.
  11. Look on this thread, ye Mighty, and despair!
  12. I'm not sure why I never posted my results to this before, because I sure remember talking it... Anyway: https://cdn.calref.net/files.calref/12/a9d4f065_IPIP-NEO-Narrative-Report.html "Highlights": EXTRAVERSION: 47 (Your score on Extraversion is average, indicating you are neither a subdued loner nor a jovial chatterbox. You enjoy time with others but also time alone) AGREEABLENESS: 97 (Your high level of Agreeableness indicates a strong interest in others' needs and well-being. You are pleasant, sympathetic, and cooperative) CONSCIENTIOUSNESS: 16 (Your score on Conscientiousness is low, indicating you like to live for the moment and do what feels good now. Your work tends to be careless and disorganized) NEUROTICISM: 58 (Your score on Neuroticism is average, indicating that your level of emotional reactivity is typical of the general population. Stressful and frustrating situations are somewhat upsetting to you, but you are generally able to get over these feelings and cope with these situations.) OPENNESSL 93 (Your score on Openness to Experience is high, indicating you enjoy novelty, variety, and change. You are curious, imaginative, and creative.) I feel that Neuroticism should've been higher ('anger', for instance, was only 14?) but I did tick a box saying that this wasn't true or real so it's all okay.
  13. Yes. Micael is in the UK still as far as I am aware. Nico definitely met him in the UK.
  14. 420. Terras Astraea Reliquit -- Sith there's no justice in earth nor hell Titus Andronicus -- 'Terras Astraea Reliquit' means something like 'the Goddess of Justice has left the world', while the second part is a direct quote: (plus 'Sith' and revenege, and in the play Titus has his hand cut off and presented to the Emperor, and it's all very Star Wars-y) 428. Escher Esper -- Beast that contradicts the laws of magic M.C. Escher's works famously contradict the laws of physics through illusion (and I actually thought this was paired with another clue before...), while Espers are magical beasts in the Final Fantasy series of games. In FF6, if you beat an esper it taught you magic, while in other games they can be summoned as allies.
  15. 417. Between Good and Evil -- Thus Spoke Mordenkainen Couple things going on here. Beyond Good and Evil and Thus Spake Zarathustra are books by Friedrich Nietzsche. But then Mordenkainen is a Dungeons and Dragon character who works to keep Good and Evil from gaining the upper hand on one another -- so he's between Good and Evil. 415. Doublegarmonbozia Palace -- Pain and suffering and financial difficulties Buffy the Vampire Slayer meets Twin Peaks! Doublemeat Palace is the restaurant Buffy gets a job in season 6 -- because she has no money ('financial difficulties) after her mum dies, and after she dies and after all goes to pot. During the episode, Buffy thinks there's people in the burgers at the DMPalace, but it's actually revealed to plant extract, or corn, or something. MEANWHILE, in Twin Peaks, Garmobozia is negative energy ('pain and suffering') that just so happens to take the form of corn. This one was my favourite for how well they worked together.
  16. 10/10 I'd have monkeys on my roof any time any day.
  17. I definitely wish I'd had the time to rank some of these characters - especially because my reaction to the Nathalies, Alwans, and Lankans is as unsettled as the wider community's.
  18. Yeah, we probably should've arranged something when I asked you three weeks ago.
  19. Ah, so you're not planning on meeting me while you're in Ireland?
  20. Oh! 378. Characters not permitted -- Make PDNs great again. So, President Trump said he'd ban Muslims from entering the US when he ascends to the throne. His campaign message/slogan is 'Make America Great Again'. This pairing plays on those - plus, if you try to have characters in your PDNs it tells you that certain characters aren't permitted. So, it's also saying that by including Characters/Muslim people, PDNs/America will be great again. So that means: 398. Long Cons and Massive Clocks -- A reference to long departed cartoonists Didn't Phil Foglio's art include a character struggling with a massive clock? And he no longer draws pictures for Jeffy-Weffy? I honestly don't know on this one.
  21. Ys is an album I usually skip entirely (not because I dislike it, but because 'Only Skin', in particular, does drag a little), but sometimes I'm not paying attention and 'Emily' or 'Sawdust and Diamonds' comes on, and I'm completely blown away and I remember how much I love Joanna Newsom. Anyway, your post made me start listening to The Milk-Eyed Mender, for the first time in about 8 months, so thanks! Also, +1 for Cocorosie.
  22. HAH! MOI DOES NOT EVEN HAVE A NOT-VERY-WITFUL COMEBACK, VS THE GOODY TASTY MOI IS FEASTING MINE EYES ON EVEN NOW!!! C'EST SUPER LAME!!!
  23. I wanna play, but I know that unless it's a Friday or Saturday night, I won't get to. So, take at least one of the sets of answers with a pinch of salt.
  24. To be fair, needing more than 12/16gb is probably something only a fraction of users are ever going to need - modeling is one such use. Sure, shoving more in isn't going to hurt, but you're also really unlikely to use it. I've never used more than 14gb, and I played Arkham Knight on the highest settings.
