  1. I really hope that you get to explore TV both during the day, and at night. I'm not sure, but I think it was the first scenario to have different conversation and NPCs about depending on the time of day. I spent a lot of time writing dialogue and descriptions for that.

    One thing puzzled me. You survived the first chest, and got the shield ring. Why didn't you just heal, and trigger the second trapped chest? Odd.

    Finally, I don't know if you've been reading the included read-me text files that literally every scenario has. I would recommend not doing that for TV until you've finished. The scenario is based on a piece of original writing (which is also included if you wanted to read that), and it'll have spoilers.

    (Oh. Also, I am keeping a note of the errors, and will get around to fixing the typos in Kurt and Preston's dialogue.)

  2. That fight *is* tough. One thing I found was that using the ranged weapons you were given at the beginning of the scenario really helps - you can stay back and kill the damage-dealers first, before hitting the melee attackers after.

    It is possible to beat it with a level one party, but my aim was to make it difficult. You're bandits. You're lacking the best weapons, decent armour, and probably any kind of training. Bandits in the Empire/Avernum are always low-level mobs that you usually tear through, and I wanted to demonstrate that. Having one casualty is probably an appropriate loss, since it's a level one party and you're not attached to it.

    That said, I might go back and tweak the stats of some of these enemies all the same.

  3. Also. Watching that last video I saw you got an error on a graphic? 510?

    There isn't anything in the scenario data script that calls that sheet - and so naturally the sheet doesn't exist. I just pulled the scenario from http://blades.nethergate.net/ and couldn't replicate the error, even after following the steps you took in your game.

    Are you using the latest version of the scenario, from http://blades.nethergate.net/? Would you mind posting the contents of the file "beginningdata.txt" here in the forums so I can see what the issue is?

    EDIT: Okay. When the error appears, at 26:10 in the video, there is clearly a wooden keg visible on screen. I'm not sure how this got here, because I didn't place it, but I bet it has something to do with the error. THIS is what the entire town looks like. (Spoilers, I guess.) There's no keg there.

    I'm not sure how, but I'm going to assume that you've gotten hold of a version of the scenario somebody has played around with? Sorry about that. The versions hosted by Tyran should work fine.

  4. yay, you're playing my scenarios!

    first, wow, i really need to go back and rewrite big chunks of a good beginning...

    secondly, while i wouldn't want to tell you how to play your game, you've probably noticed that i like to cram text ~~everywhere~~. while watching the above videos i noticed that you've been skipping things like ovens, shelves, cabinets, etc... pretty much anything you can look at will have text and (imo) you're missing out on some good stuff there. for the first few scenarios i made it isn't as over-the-top, but looking in all those places is pretty vital for the atmosphere-building in a couple of my later scenarios (the eternal, twilight valley, out of sight).

    edit: oh hey you looked in the library in the second video. sorry,

    You're not missing much. Some time after Bonus Army was released, Lilith uploaded a .wav of her saying "Bonus Army" in a long drawn-out fashion. Think of it as a proto-"Longest Yeah Boy Ever". A couple years later, the .wav was (re?)discovered, and the Shadow Vale gang decided to do their own versions of the clip. Most of the links are 404s now, but the ones that are still around are Aran's, mine, and (my favourite) Niemand's.

    I'd never heard Niemand's version! I have the other two bookmarked, along with the greatest thing to ever come from the BoA community.

    "Rainbow road" was my guess too!

    That was my first guess for that one too, but then I considered what I knew about Diki, and how likely it'd be that they'd go with a gaming reference.

    Unfortunately, I am dumb, and didn't submit answers. :(

  7. I used day/night cycles in TV, so I went back and looked at my code. There's a bit more going on in the script (twilight.txt if you wanted to take a look), but here's the stuff that should let you track whether it's day or night. Setting a flag lets you track it scenario-wide, of course.

    ticks = (get_current_tick() % 5000);

    if((ticks > 3750) || (ticks < 250)) {
    	//time = night
      	set_flag(250,0,1);
    } else {
      	//time = day
      	set_flag(250,0,0);
    }

    I remember starting the day at 250 because that's when it's fully light, I guess that makes Ephesos right.

  8. Does anybody have, or have a link for, the Windows 3D editor? The link to Tridash's editor in the forum header is broken, and I can only seem to find Isaac's editor for Mac. Literally any version of any 3D editor will be fine - I just can't bear drawing terrain in 2D.

    Thanks in advance.

  9. I finished The Intended. It didn't suck as much as I feared.

    I read Marrow which is a bad book that I read because a cute girl gave it me to read.

    I read some of Amy Gerstler's poetry (Dearest Creature) and it was super good and fun and inspiring.

    I read Moderato Cantabile again because it is perfect and I wish to hold it inside of me forever.

    I just started reading a new translation of The Stranger (interestingly called The Outsider) and comparing it to my favourite translation.

  10. Oh no. I think I made a mistake.

    You should play Three Twenty-Three. That's my Warrior's Grove scenario.

    You should skip Phew For a Minute, because that's the one which is just Radiohead lyrics.

    ...

    This is the problem when literally all of your work can be finished within an hour.

  11. So far this year I've read:

    Child of God. It was a wonderful holiday read, full of cheer, goodwill, and succinct, biting, and elegant writing.

    The Princess Saves Herself In This One, which was honestly not that good, and only really worth it if you want to see how not to write poetry. I had to pretend I liked it because it was a gift. And that's sad, because the subject matter was good. It was just tumblr-level poetry. Which is to say, MY level of poetry. :(

    We which I've been meaning to read for a while, on Nayld's recommendation, and which was absolutely worth the two hours it took to get through. If I had one complaint, it was that 1984 and Brave New World ruined it for me, but it's brilliant to see the seeds that it planted in Orwell and Huxley, and the breakdown of logic in the face of humanity was probably better handled here than in either of the other two books mentioned.

    I also started The Intended, but I'm probably not going to finish that because it sucks

  12. I have come across the term 'hugemassive' before, but only colloquially, and only to mean, well, huge massive - and never in reference to Spiderweb.

    'Bob', meanwhile, is something I only associate with the SW/Blades community, and I've never heard of it outside of here.
