    Geneforge 1.1 patch

    A couple of months ago my old iMac's hard drive died on me, and I ended up with a new eMac running OS 10.3.5. Yesterday I installed Geneforge off my CD, and since it's version 1.0.2 I downloaded the 1.1 patch for OS X nativity. Unfortunately, I seem to be unable to access Preferences from either the main menu or the game while paused (or any of the menus while paused, for that matter). While I have a horrible feeling I'm forgetting something obvious, I seem to have run out of tricks. Any help for this?
