I decided to start playing Exile I again (horray for me) and I found a demon in golden chains or something. Am I supposed to free him?

The thing is, Blades of Exile was the first "Blades" game. Because Jeff re-did the Exile Trilogy to make them have better graphics, he naturally made Blades Of Avernum. If he makes a Blades of Geneforge (shudder) he'd probably have to make a Blades of Nethergate and other absurd things.

Are you sure? I thought crystals were used a shaper only items. I seem to recall a dialoge box somewhere (I think in one of the beginning stages) saying "There are two crystals. Shapers infused these gems with deadly power, only for magician use only" or something like that. I thought outsiders generally didn't use them.

Outsiders should not get acess to batons, wands, or crystals. (Unless smuggled, stolen, etc.)

I once got in trouble for getting keys from the editor to try to get into Erika's chambers (to no avail!) and for some reason when I went to doors that needed the special item keys, it wouldn't let me in.

If I am correct, in BOE you get the power crystal from a horde of goblins near the north-westish part of the land. Why do goblins have it? EDIT: And in BOA, don't you get the power crystal from the Vahnatai instead of goblins?
