As A4 is apparently available for Windows I believe it is time we all listed what we like and dislike about A4. I realise this discussion has already occurred, but one central comprehensive topic may serve this purpose better.

Yes the spiral crypt is certainly a difficult place to escape if you don't kill all undead, even the ones that aren't moving. My party took quite a beating there. Only one character escaped to a nearby town.

I thought the adventurers in the honeycomb were a nice touch. I really enjoyed fighting a party of similar strength am makeup to my own. Though I didn't see a moral dilemma in killing them.

I don't use any creations when playing a Guardian.

I had no problem with the Xian pants.

A mock geneforge would be interesting. Perhaps the main char has to do some huge quest in order to use said Geneforege. But when the char uses it nothing happens beyond killing the character. I realise it would need to be more dramatic than that. But still a little side quest centered around a fake geneforge would be interesting.

Start from the bigining, meaning play A1 first.

Why not play a Vahanatai warrior? Maybe a giant bird or something.

5. Drakons are just slightly too big for most buildings. So unless you want to stay outside the whole game, it's not a good idea.

Most high lvl doors aren't worth opening any way. Minimal rewards generally.

The biggest mistake I made was giving my Nephilim theif 10 lvls of Tool use. Then when the unlock door spell was availabe my human mage with only one lvl of tool use took over.

By end game I could unlock lvl 30 doors. How that happened is a mystery as I didn't focus on making that spell any better.

A4 forum needs a FAQ link. That way the questions that most people have can be more easily answered. It seems like once a week someone wants to get into the spiral fort, or Erika's tower or Rentar's Keep.

Interesting thing about return life is your revived chracters come back with full spell points. I found this usfull in some long dungeons. "Oh just step over there and die Mr. Mage, then Mrs. Priest can revive you and your spell points".

Oh I don't know. The post was somewhat entertaining, in that it made no sense.

The Rentar fight was appropriately difficult I believe. Perhaps somewhat static in that nothing really happens beyond her trying to cast various powerful spells which the crystal you have blocks. Though, it should not be forgotten that if one smashes the crystal then the fight will be much more difficult. I smashed the crystal shard the first time through and found myself having a tense fight. Dorkas was definitely the most interesting fight throughout the game. The setting . . . well he was in Avernum not the Empire so he really couldn't build that much beyond what Erika's basement consisted off.

What if one of his guards murders him?

Edit: Hmm, apparently I cannot enter the castle now as the guards believe I killed someone. How long will that last? It appears that you can kill people behind doors in the Castle but eventually there are repercussions.

Yes what a nice feature murder is. The king and Solberg died on my sword. Scratch that apparently King Strattus has too many guards so I loose.

Why he would need so much iron is a mystery. He is after all on the frontier meaning a serious lack of soldiers. Perhaps he sells the bars to a another merchant for yet more profit.
