If you don’t have them, build barracks and improved tower (ballistas, etc.) to reduce theft…it helps a bit.

Get a decent lead on him and arrange your team on the opposite side (by the locked exit door), with one parked next to the control panel. Agree with Randomizer about the tedium…especially if you accidentally send it into stasis before you can hit the button!
