That could be a fun project, but what is this window manager's special thing that makes you want to revive it? I know most of the niche ones exist for some particular design or philosophy (e.g. Xmonad), and Wikipedia says Blackbox has "particular design goals", but not what they are. Why a stacking WM, and why this one?

Well, at least mail server traffic is mostly encrypted end-to-end now, for what that's worth, so it should (in theory) only be trivial if you own one of the relays or can intercept a TLS connection. It's still not something you want to entrust with anything more important than a forum password. The annoying thing is that it isn't hard to encrypt those mails, since most script languages have gnupg bindings.

The Ermarian Network itself is now on Cloudsoarer. If you see a server error, your DNS has not yet updated - Dreamhost was unable to change the DNS record without also disabling the site. It will take longer for propagation to complete; the zone's A record is cached longer than the subdomains' CNAME records.

Spiderweb is basically one developer. Expanding beyond that would require a significant and risky investment (both time and money) just to try and enter a different market they have never competed in before. You see, games only turn a profit after they're finished, and outside of taking pre-orders or using something like Kickstarter you have no idea how much it'll make. (Edit: I can't find a good source on this now, so take it with a grain of salt.) It's been said that Blades of Avernum sold so poorly that the company was saved by the success of Avernum 4. If a single game could be that much of a risk, how much worse would it be if he hired more developers/artists and greatly increased the production costs?

I use the xkcd method everywhere, with 4-5 random ordinary words. It's good memory training. Of course, the way websites handle trust, my email account is the only truly important one. Every website will gladly send a password reset token to your email address - unencrypted, naturally. That's pretty much broken from a security perspective. (Also, my bank made me buy one of those gadgets that compute one-time transaction codes using the card.)

I see you're using it to post as well. Anyway, I haven't seen Jeff announcing future Android ports officially anywhere. After the Avadon release, he actually said it would take great outside support (as from Humble Bundle for Avadon) to do it again.

And lo, it was annoying. I'm not on board with how much difficulty has been nerfed in the more recent games, but I don't really miss hunger. It wasn't a challenge to get food; just an irritating chore.

Does the reboot erase everything but the name, and start with a blank slate? Otherwise, since UtSS was a CalRef RP, and the RP wiki's info is a bit scattered with many red links, maybe we should have a paragraph or two about the basic premise and setting...

The calculus is one thing; I wonder who else would have developed the laws of mechanics. Since these discoveries are often made independently by multiple people, I guess it shouldn't have taken too long... If mechanical computing is developed only a few decades sooner, WW2-style cryptology could have been in use by WW1. However, I doubt it would have been as relevant as in WW2 without the rest of modern industry, because trench warfare is not as dependent on secrecy.
