  1. So, there are even older versions of these games? 😲 I like the old style for Exile 1, thank you!
  2. I experienced this yesterday. My party had discovered the Crystal Cave and were resting inside it. Their health and energy points were very low so I had them rest several time in a row; after a while I was getting "monsters nearby" each time I pressed the rest button. I ventured outside and there was 4 bands of enemies queueing outside the cave entrance!
  3. On a side note, I have a real pleasure playing this game but I cannot play too long sessions due to the outrageous number of monsters to fight; this easily annoys me. I would like it much more if more of them fled. Two hours is the largest limit.
  4. My current party members levels trank from 8 to 5. It seems a bit low to scare mindless creatures.
  5. The very first video game I ever played was Avernum, I'm not used to older games. Ah thank you for the info. I begin to see monster fleeing instead of attacking; is that related to the total amount of Luck my party has?
  6. Thank you for taking a look. It's puzzling because in Avernum we can report having killed the spies; the woman doesn't give a reward per se but at least she thanks the party for their good deed! I hope there are not many of those not requested quests.
  7. Yeah, I know all that but when I report after finishing the missions, I cannot find the words to use. It's like there is no way to report after the job done, at least for the Bandits Fort, the Nephilim cave and the spies in Silvar (the food merchant doesn't seem to have a dialogue for that and she is still spooked). Nobody knows the words I must use to report these missions? There is no list anywhere of the words we need to use in conversations?
  8. They eventually found it, hidden in the cave wall North-East of Fort Duvno and straight North of the Brigands Fort, after wandering a lot, killing a lot of creatures of all kind and running in circles! On the way, they discovered a cave full of bats but just explored the entrance of it; they decided that they would wait a bit before giving it a close look. The bats seems a bit too poisonous for them yet. After cleaning the new Nephilim fort, still under constructions by Goblins, and having acquired quite some new experience, they went to Silvar to train. Unfortunately, they didn't have enough money to complete their training and some of them have points left... - Bear's new stats (level 7): - Pip's new stats (level 6): - Djinn's new stats (level 6): - Leah's new stats (level 6): - Edward's new stats (level 5): - Hanka's new stats (level 4): Leaving unassigned points is quite an annoyance, which is why some members have already got Luck points. I'm not sure if I'm going to give Luck points to every member though. What's the experienced player's advice about that? Next step: freeing the prisoners from the other Nephilim cave, North of Silvar.
  9. No, it's the new fort the Nephilim are building in the North. My party also cleaned the brigands fort but I haven't found a way to report this to the captain either.
  10. Okay, my party has killed the Nephilim spies outside the inn and cleared the Nephilim Fort for Captain Johnson. Now, how do I report this to the woman in the inn and the Captain? None of the words I use work. How do I get the proper rewards if I cannot report?
  11. Something happened that I like very much. I had placed Edward so that he had a clear line of fire to the enemies; two of them were on the same diagonal as Edward, he fired a fireball at the enemy who was the last on the line and killed both of them. Oh how I love that!
  12. Fort Duvno in Exile 2? I thought the games were set in different places of the cave.
  13. Yeah, I wanted to remove the bashing points but I forgot... I'm going to remove them in the editor but I don't know where to put them instead. Edit: Crap, I cannot remove the points... Well, it's your call... For now my party is doing well. They are wandering around looking for the Nephil fort; they had to fight a lots of Goblins, Nephils, bandits and a band of Sliths. Given the way levelling ups work, I'm not too formal about it. In Avernum, I would wait until every member has points but here I level them when they have points. Back to searching for the Nephil fort...
  14. Trying a new images host: Exile Gallery It looks good; I've uploaded the images I've taken for now: the party start stats, their new stats after they cleaned up the Brigand Fort. I'm a bit puzzled at how they all level up at different paces; Edward and Hanka are very late behind all the others and the prices are such that I haven't been able to apply all the points Bear had...
  15. So far, I don't remember the enemies acting before all my party members had acted. You can still swap places with the one that is in front, if it has enough action points. I did notice that two character were in the same place but it was accidental; I have no idea how to do that...
  16. It's the shield icon, isn't it? I use it on combat start so that the enemies have to spend their action points to get close and the party members don't get hurt before the mage and priest can bless them. Very efficient. I noticed that the order of action in E1 depends on the order of the players in the list; it's different in Avernum. Edit: I'd like t post images of my new party but the image site I use is down for now.
  17. By the way, I haven't found what word to use to tell the woman that her "noises" problem was solved; anybody remembers what word triggers her answer?
  18. Yeah, my party of six is doing slightly better. Not being used to this game, I have troubles deciding what to make of them. I have basically three fighters: one specialised in archery, one in bash weapons and one in edged weapons. I also have a priest, a mage and an alchemist specialised in poisons and is quite able with the ... club. They just killed the nephils spies in Silvar; being quite blocked on a narrow path, it's the big pole weapons user who almost made the job! The mage and the priest used support spells on him. I'm feeling better now thanks for your advice all!
  19. Well, it's been a while since I've played last but I'm really wondering, is this game playable at all? All my characters, except the mage, miss when they shoot or try to hit. Each fight is won after reloading and reloading and I'm not sure that adding two characters would make a difference. Pity, if things don't improve I'll have to give up. Remaking a party of six this time.
  20. On an upgrade, you should have lots of them to install.
  21. Did you installed all rhe updates already? What hd graphics do you have in your computer? Did you install the latest drivers for your hd graphics?
  22. I own the six games already and I play Avernum, the original version, currently, in alternance with Exile, when I can. I accidentally bought Avernum Escape from the pit, the new version and I was appalled when I started it. To me, it's no longer Avernum. Exactly what I was afraid of.
  23. So the mac versions work better now I guess. I have no idea what battle disciplines are; as for caches and junk bag, yeah, maybe, but I don't believe they are very useful.
