  1. I kinda remember that Sharon Vogel is Jeff's ex wife... but I could be wrong.
  2. I'm not sure that this post really belongs here, you'll judge of that. There are cameos in games that weren't made by Jeff (as far as I know) that refer to his games, at least one (spotted on GoG):
  3. Yeah, and I would like Avernum to be ported to Linux... Please, rewrite your title in lower case, capital letters are frowned upon on the internet.
  4. I remember something like that too. I stick to my point, if people feel insulted, that wasn't my point but if I'm wrong they shouldn't feel insulted. Edit: Mind you, this situation is entirely the fault of the game companies. I agree that it's not a vast majority of players who asked for easier ways to play games (markers, easy riddles, auto hide helmets and so on...) but the game companies listened to them and gave them what they wanted, making their games more and more for the widest crowd, in fear of not selling their games if they asked too much from their customers. Now that I think of it, these players have become customers, not really game players. My point of view goes to them. If people who feel insulted do not belong to that crowd, they can be assured that I'm not talking about them. I won't delete my posts this time and I won't comment further about that either because I don't want to start a fight.
  5. If you play Skyrim on pc, you can remove the markers. Anyway, it's obvious that newer games are made for lazy players, players who don't want to think about what they are playing, resolve riddles (the riddles in Skyrim are ridiculous) and so on. They want linear games they can play fast because "I have other games to play!". Pity, really.
  6. Good morning, My question is all in the title. I use Linux on my PC and Android on my phone.
  7. Ah, that's a pity... I didn't remember that.
  8. I cannot find a way to camp outdoors like I can do in Avernum? What is the procedure? Thanks.
  9. I tend to read like that too but it's been days I haven't opened a book... Right now, I have: Neal Spephenson's Seveneves, Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, Stratis Tsirkas' Cités à la Dérive, Mohamed MBougar Sarr's Terre Ceinte, to read. Gee, I really need to do something about that!
  10. Did I read right? The game is due to be released next June? 😲 I need to replay The Conqueror then! 💫
  11. And, as far as I remember, making money is not a real problem...
  12. Yes! My favourite among the three is definitely Avernum, the very first game. I have a fond memories of this one, less of the others unfortunately, which will make them interesting to re-play.
  13. Okay, it might be obvious to everyone but I need to confirm that I have given up on playing Exile... Not really proud of it but I'd rather use the limited spare time I have to replay Avernum, the first trilogy (the original version), the one game that introduced me to playing video games! I'll never thank Jeff enough for those! . I mainly prefer games 1 to 3, I don't really like games 4 to 6 but maybe I'll give them a try, if I can. I deleted my Exile gallery. And... happy new year everyone! I hope the covid didn't make members here scarcer...
  14. Unfortunately I cannot afford allowing to much space to something like WINE...
  15. I'm reading the Wool trilogy; just at the beginning for now, the first chapters offer very clever surprises about how you can manipulate your neighbour even to their own death...
  16. You can't, you'll have to trust Jeff on that... :)
  17. Did you read the recent translation in English of Solaris dating back to 2011? For some reason I cannot find it. I'm currently reading I, Robot by Isaac Asimov, more interesting than I had imagined. I like the way Asimov describes the situations, quite blankly, and how he focuses on the danger robots represent, although he doesn't much emphasizes too heavily on it. :)
  18. I'm currently reading The War of the Worlds. That's about it because I cannot find enough time to read more.
  19. Is there any way to convince Jeff so that he ports his games to Linux, at least Ubuntu and the versions that are based on it?
  20. Well, WINE is huge for once and I don't need it, I would only use it for my Windows games and most of them would not work fine under it. So...
  21. I'm sorry guys but I'm using Linux now and I don't like WINE. Anyway, I tried playing Exile with WINE and the result was not good. The only game made by Spiderweb that has a Linux version is Avadon: The Black Fortress. I still have Windows installed but it's rather boring to have to switch from one os the other. If only anyone could make a Linux version of Exile, Avernum and all the other games... sigh
  22. No resolutions at all; nobody follows them anyway.
